As Donna falls asleep in my arms again. I can't help but feel an uneasiness from earlier. Something gnawing at me from inside.

Is she hiding something?

Immediately my thoughts run to the worst outcome. I shake my head free of them and clench my jaw. I glance down at Donna's dark hair. I kiss the back of her head and hold her closer.

No. I have to trust her.

I don't know why, or what woke me up, but I opened my eyes midway through the night. Donna not in my arms.

Maybe she went to the bathroom.

I get up slowly and head down the hallway, calling out for Donna gently. I stepped into the kitchen and filled up a glass of water, swallowing it as I woke up more. Once I'm done I stare into the empty glass.

Did she go to attend to her Lord duties? Did Mother Miranda call her? Why didn't she tell me?

Almost immediately I feel a swirl of anger and betrayal inside me. I couldn't help it. I didn't like it when people hid things from me or lied. I didn't like not being trusted.

No. No, she trusts you. Don't jump to conclusions.

I hear the elevator ding and open its doors. Footsteps getting closer and the door opening. Donna freezes in her tracks once she sees me. Her veil was over her head and Angie by her side.

"Awww look at the lonely puppy awaiting her master!" Angie snorted but I ignored her.

"Where were you?" I immediately question Donna.

She takes off her veil and stares at me, "Mother Miranda called."

I narrow my eyes at her. She was telling the truth. But I didn't believe her. There was something else.

I glance at her hands and see her shift a hand to her side, out of my sight.

"Are you holding something?" I move towards her but she backs away, moving her hand further.

My eyes widened slightly, my throat immediately clogged with hurt.

"Do....do you not trust me?"

Donna's face remains hardened and unreadable. She didn't.

"Donna I'm not going to think any less of you. I love you, nothing can make me feel otherwise." I reassure her.

It seems to work, she glances at her hand and back to me. Slowly walking to me and taking out her hand. She reveals a golden flask with a label.

"Did Mother Miranda give this to you?" I take it from her hands and look it over.

"Yes, she said to defend it with my life. She warned us of a danger to come very soon." Donna explained.

I scoffed, "What can you guys be threatened by?"

"I'm not sure, but it was enough for her to order Heisenberg to attack the villagers with his Lycans."

My heart drops and I stare at her blankly.

Attack the villagers?

Sweat trails down my face in nervousness. Sudden goosebumps in fear and worry. I hadn't ever really conversed with the villagers. But they were still human.

Does she want to get rid of me too?

Before asking anything, my gaze falls to the label. A bit smudged by something so I clean it with my thumb.
