Kaya stood in front of Tsunade's desk, her usual sharp gaze softened with determination. The Hokage leaned back in her chair, scrutinizing the young shinobi in front of her.

"I need to be excused from the search for Itachi," Kaya stated calmly, her voice unwavering.

Tsunade raised an eyebrow, surprised by the request. "And why is that? You know how important this mission is."

Kaya nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I do, Tsunade-sama. But there are... other matters I need to attend to. Matters that are equally crucial for the village's future."

Tsunade's eyes narrowed, studying Kaya's expression. There was something about her tone that spoke of secrets untold, of knowledge beyond what she should possess. After a moment of silence, Tsunade sighed. "You're hiding something from me, aren't you?"

Kaya didn't flinch. "It's not about hiding, Tsunade-sama. It's about doing what needs to be done. Trust me on this."

The room fell into a heavy silence, with Tsunade weighing the decision in her mind. Finally, she nodded, albeit reluctantly. "Fine. But be careful, Kaya. If this is as important as you say, don't take it lightly."

Kaya bowed her head slightly. "Thank you, Tsunade-sama."

Later that day, Kaya found herself by the training grounds, waiting for Shikamaru. The sun was setting, casting long shadows across the field. Shikamaru arrived shortly after, his usual lazy demeanor replaced with a look of mild concern.

"Kaya, what's this all about?" he asked, hands in his pockets as he approached her.

Kaya glanced around, ensuring they were alone before speaking. "I can't go into detail, but I need your help with something. It's something I can't do alone."

Shikamaru frowned, sensing the seriousness in her voice. "You know this sounds like a bad idea, right? Especially since you're keeping things from me."

She nodded, her fox-like orange eyes meeting his with sincerity. "I know, and I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important. But I need you to trust me, Shikamaru. I wouldn't drag you into this if I thought it was reckless."

Shikamaru sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Troublesome... but fine. I'll help you. Just don't get us killed, okay?"

A small smile tugged at Kaya's lips. "I won't. I promise."

The next day, Shikamaru approached Naruto, who was gearing up to leave with Team 8 and Team 10. Naruto's usual energy was heightened by the anticipation of finding Itachi.

"Hey, Shikamaru!" Naruto greeted, a wide grin on his face. "Where's Kaya? Isn't she coming with us?"

Shikamaru shifted his gaze, trying to mask his unease. "She's on a long mission, Naruto. Something came up, and she had to go."

Naruto blinked, the grin faltering for a moment. "A mission? Now of all times?"

"Yeah," Shikamaru replied, keeping his tone as casual as possible. "But she told me to tell you to stay focused. She's counting on you to bring Sasuke back."

Naruto's expression hardened with determination. "Yeah, I will. And when she gets back, I'll make sure she knows what she missed."

Shikamaru managed a faint smile as he watched Naruto run off to join the others. As he turned away, he couldn't shake the feeling of unease. Whatever Kaya was planning, it was clear she had her reasons. But he couldn't help but worry about the dangers ahead-for both of them.

As Kaya left Konoha, she felt the weight of her decision pressing down on her shoulders. The path she had chosen was risky, but she knew it was necessary. She moved swiftly through the trees, heading towards the Village hidden in Rain, where Jiraiya had gone to gather information on the Akatsuki. Kaya's heart tightened at the thought of what awaited him-what she knew from her memories of watching the anime.
