In a world threatened by the overwhelming power of the Honkai, there existed a legendary weapon known as the Judgment of Shamash. This divine key weapon was built using the core of the Herrscher of Fire, making it the most destructive of the divine keys. To control its terrible powers, the core was halved and housed in the chambers of twin pistols.
It is regarded as the most destructive of the divine keys. Unifying the core halves activates its zweihänder form. The great sword can unleash a storm of fire that destroys emperor-class Honkai with ease. The deadly firestorm spared nothing, not even its wielder. Those who swung the Divine Key knew that they live to activate its true powers only once.

The Judgment of Shamash was forged in the previous era. The 3rd Herrscher had yet to appear at that time. Most people believed that the Honkai was only a minor disturbance and lived in a facade of peace.
In Nagazora, a city in the Far East, stood Senba Academy, a high school where students laughed and studied, oblivious to the world-ending powers hidden beneath their everyday reality. They enjoyed the simplicity of youth, unaware that the peace they took for granted was fragile and that the battle against the Honkai was far from over.
Among these students was Jaune, a transfer student who arrived three months ago. He was athletic and good-looking, quickly becoming extremely popular among the girls, who called him the "Prince." Despite his popularity, Jaune remained focused and disinterested in his fawning fans.
Jaune was playing basketball when it became clear that someone had already taken his heart when he first arrived at Senba. Her name was Weiss, and her classmates called her a nerd. Weiss's father was a renowned physicist specializing in the field of electromagnetism. She wanted to become a scientist and expand upon human knowledge. She wasn't interested in anything else.
Jaune tried all sorts of ways to get Weiss's attention, but Weiss ignored him at every turn. His actions may have been quite childish and annoying at times, such as when Jaune cheekily took her glasses, and Weiss chased after him. Despite this, Jaune was persistent, and his intentions were good. It left an impression on Weiss when Jaune teasingly gave back her glasses after she caught him, and she had a light blush. If peace could be maintained, perhaps the prince and the nerd might live happily ever after.
