Ren stood in the dark room, his hand illuminated by a faint green glow emanating from the small, fluttering leaf in his palm. He spoke softly, his voice barely a whisper.

"Why concern yourself with life and death?" Ren's voice was steady, almost detached. "They are just phases in the unending Samsara."

The leaf glowed brighter for a brief moment, then began to fade.

"Just let go, Pyrrha," he said, as if speaking directly to her through the fabric of reality.

Blake remained silent, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. She was trying to piece together the puzzle. "Ren's talking about life and death like they're... interchangeable. Is this some kind of alternate universe? Or a dream?" Her voice was soft, but there was a hint of worry underlying her calm demeanor.

A piercing beep shattered the silence, echoing from a digital clock. The time read: 7:00. Pyrrha stirred from her restless sleep, the insistent beeping of the alarm dragging her back to consciousness. She sighed, still groggy from the vivid dream that felt all too real.

"Sheesh, I guess I fell asleep studying these cases," she muttered, rubbing her eyes. The light from her desk lamp spilled over a cluttered workspace, filled with files and medical textbooks. She reached out, turning off the alarm. "Time to start my day."

As Pyrrha made her way to the bathroom, she thought about the dream. It had been strange, a surreal blend of reality and fantasy.

"And I had such a weird dream," Pyrrha mumbled as she brushed her teeth. "Killing monsters while wearing some exoskeleton armor." She stared at her reflection, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream.

"Alright, Pyrrha, you need to grow out of this. You're not a mecha fangirl anymore," she chided herself, still half-lost in thought.

Tai, a frown forming on his face. "Maybe it's just a dream," he suggested, though he didn't sound convinced. "Or some kind of vision. I don't know, Qrow, but it's weird, and it's throwing me off."

Later, as she walked down the street, her mind drifted back to her past. Memories of her best friend surfaced, unbidden. Pyrrha's gaze fell on a framed photograph she kept in her office, a picture of her and Neo, laughing together, back when life was simpler.

"Disaster struck Kuroyuri 5 years ago and wiped out the entire place," Pyrrha reflected, her steps slowing. "My best friend Neo was a high school student in that city when it happened. I never heard from her since."

The image of the bustling city, flashed in her mind. All that remained were memories and questions that would never be answered.

Neo stared at the image of Pyrrha, her own reflection mirrored in the screen's glass. Her hands clenched into fists at her sides. Pyrrha's care, her belief that Neo was worth something... it was almost too much. She wasn't used to this. Every instinct screamed to push it away, to reject the unfamiliar warmth. But a small part of her, buried deep, wanted to reach out, to believe that maybe, just maybe, Pyrrha's feelings were real.

Pyrrha's footsteps echoed in the hallway of the Ninth Hospital, her coat trailing behind her as she walked briskly. The scene of suffering greeted her everywhere—patients with pale faces and dull eyes, nurses rushing from room to room. She passed by a window, taking in the sight of a young boy lying on a hospital bed, his body marked with the telltale purple stripes of the Honkai sickness.
