After everything that happened at the academy, I went home. I lived on the rural side of Aray. My home planet was small but its beauty was not to be missed. My parents are farmers and they grow Lua, a sweet and small fruit. If I wasn't in the academy, I would be helping them with the produce and learning new things everyday. The little time I spent with my parents was well spent that's for sure. My house is a small white dome made for three. It's cozy and nostalgic and even though it's small, I wouldn't changed it. As I saw my house from a clearer view I could see the garden full of flowers. They always gave me so much joy, especially because I used to play there all the time with Cassian when we were little. The warm breeze and the big trees filled me with energy, it's something I couldn't quite explain... I was home. I always say I have many homes: Caelum Academy, my friends, but this... it's different. My parents are my blood, their who I am, their my everything. I never really get to spend much time with them, so every time I come back, I make it count.

I arrived at night, which was an ideal time in the forest. Aray was known for our bright blue skies during the day, but during the night...colorful lights danced around the sky waiting for darkness to fall giving us Arayan's a perfect sleep.

When I got off the bus I entered my home with my bags. My mom immediately went running from the kitchen to hug me. She always gave the best hugs. I don't care how old I am, her hugs bring me so much joy, but all happiness faded once she saw the cut on my lip and the bruise on my right cheek form the fight.

"Zera Sekar... what in the world is that on your face?!"
Her concern almost faded and turned into anger very quickly.

"Mom, I'm fine. It was just a small misunderstanding."
I tried to shrug it off, but I knew she wouldn't let it go any time soon.

"Just a small misunderstanding... Zera, please do not tell me that you got into a fight?!"

Yup, she was definitely starting to get mad.

"I wouldn't call it a fight, more like..."

"I swear Zera, if you say misunderstanding one more time..."

"Okay, okay... I was in a fight, but I was just defending myself and Cassian from Jax. He was being an asshole and I put him in his place."

"You cannot be serious about this. You got a busted lip and a black eye because you were putting that boy in his place?!"

I started to regret my choice of words and knew what was next.

"Yes, I said shyly. Mom, I'm sorry okay, I already got in trouble at the school and everyone scolded me already so please can we just get on with it."

"Oh no, you are my daughter! I don't care if captains, generals, or even elders screamed at you... I am your mother. Just because everyone else gets a say in how you are raised does not give them the right. I was here first remember? I was the one who gave birth to you, so you answer to me."
