On her way back to the guest house, Eliza's phone rang. Glancing at the screen, she saw Luke's name.
"Hello Luke, it's nice to hear from you again," she said, pausing as a smile played upon her lips.
"How did you know it was me when I hadn't spoken yet?" Luke chuckled, his laughter mingling with Eliza's echoing mirth.
"The wonders of modern technology," she replied, and they both laughed again. Every time someone made that comment, it earned yet another chuckle."The caller's name and number display on the screen before me," Eliza heard Luke whisper excitedly.
"Ooooh," she continued, "it protects us from the unruly characters that have bothered us before. If I see one of them, I simply don't answer." She laughed again at her remark, while Luke stayed silent, presumably worried.
Eliza sighed. "Yes, we have, but that was ages ago," she said, laughing again to reassure Luke.
"Now, you didn't call us just to listen to our troubles. So, what's the reason for your call, Luke?" Eliza asked with renewed brightness, as the tension eased. Luke took a steadying breath and inquired,
"Would someone else be interested in coming to stay at your place if possible?" he continued.
"Home Free's producer, Darren Rust, and Nate Stone mentioned they would like to stay at your place too if that's alright with everyone. Also, can Tim and Rob bring their dogs?" Luke finished his question and waited. Without hesitation, Eliza responded,
"They're welcome to join; the more, the merrier. We've always said that anyone who wishes to come and stay is welcome. There's ample room for them and any companions they'd like to bring." Noticing Luke's quiet sigh of relief, Eliza asked,
""Yes," Luke confirmed, "Adam and his daughter Celise, Austin, Chance, Rob with his family, Tim, Jenika, Nate, Darren, and I will be there if that's alright. Oh, and the dogs—Tim's dog Satchmo, and Rob's dog Penny Lane."
"Our guest house alone boasts ample space with a minimum of 50 rooms. In addition, we provide a riverside lodge perfect for a family of four, along with three smaller lodges. We assure you, there's plenty of room to comfortably accommodate everyone."
"Yes, see you later; we're looking forward to it. Bye for now," Eliza said, ending the call. She turned to the other girls, who were singing covers, with a radiant smile on their faces.
"That sounds beautiful; it's coming together," she remarked.
