"Okay ka lang, Jah? Okay lang kayo ni Ken?" Yani asked him as he started driving.
He hugged himself, hugging Ken's hoodie na suot parin niya, and nodded to his brother. He looked back at where they left Ken, but he couldn't see anything anymore, dahil gabi na at malakas pa ang ulan.
Justin's POV
He had never directly said he loved Ken until tonight.
When they confessed their feelings to each other before, ang sabi lang niya was that Ken was special and that he made him happy.
Now that he admitted it to him, he was scared. Lalo na dahil walang kahit anong sinabi si Ken sa kanya after he said that. He's scared, dahil hindi niya nasagot ang tanong ni Ken kung hanggang kailan. What if, in the process, mapagod siya at magsawang maghintay? What if magbago pa yung mga feelings nila? Dahil they still have to avoid each other, what if, in the long run, mawala yung feelings ni Ken for him? Or siya, kay Ken?
He's not sure if he gave him enough assurance. Sapat na ba yun para maghintay si Ken?
His mind was clouded with thoughts and lots of what-if's, and it's not helping him.
He tried his best to calm himself down. He leaned his head on the backrest, closed his eyes tightly, and recalled the series of talks he had with Pablo and his brother Yani over the past few months.
His kuya Yani was actually on their side; he was with him explaining to Pablo that they don't have to do this, na hindi ito ang solusyon, and to just let them be with what they feel. But Pablo was firm.
Ten times na mas masakit para sa kanya tuwing binabalewala niya si Ken. Whenever he ignores him, parang may tumutusok na karayom sa dibdib niya, but he has to endure all that to show Pablo that what he feels for Ken is not something that is temporary.
He fought really, really hard. Ilang beses na nakiusap sa kanya si Pablo, pero hindi siya napayag, hindi siya nagpatinag, ayaw niyang layuan si Ken kung siya lang din ang tatanungin. Pablo tried many times, but he rejected him many times too.
Hindi niya pa sana balak sabihin kay Ken, but he had no choice, kanina. Ayaw naman niyang isipin ni Ken na bumitaw na siya ng tuluyan.
But when Pablo reminded him of how Ken would always tell of world domination for their group, of how Ken would vocally tell them his dreams and hopes for them as a group and as an individual, of how Ken chose this career over his studies-- that's where Pablo got him. Hindi niya hahayaang siya ang maging rason kung bakit hindi yun matutupad ni Ken.
"You know too well, Jah, that if Ken had to choose between his career and you, he would always choose you—for sure. Now, what I'm saying is that, bakit hindi yung career muna natin ang piliin nating lahat, pag stable na tayo, then you can do whatever you want. Take this as a way also to prove that your feelings for each other are not shallow. Let it stand the test of time."
and he continued, "If you're confident enough about what you feel for each other, then hindi kayo matatakot na isantabi muna, dahil alam niyo pareho na at the end of the journey, you will still choose each other; na nandyan lang kayo for each other," Pablo told him once.
