"Today on; Where in Perven are you! I came up with this last night." Quincy says, yawning. He clearly didn't sleep either. Lauren sighs, shaking her head as he pulls out a map and holds a stick in his hand pointing to a small area near Vera.
"We're right here, in between Vera and Morialn." Steven is watching, seemingly actually interested in this small lesson of Quincys, which is surprising because he is so cold, personality wise, he's also physically cold too. "If we could go on field trips like in school I would take you guys to the nearby railroad; we ride it every now and then so a field trip wouldn't really be needed anyway." He mumbles the last part, he points to seara, wilo and then tesia. "Vera, is where you guys come from, right? Also David but he's not here..." He grumbles seemingly upset that David has decided to spend more time making arrows than hanging out with a group of young adults.
"Vera is known for the hospitality of their people and the strength they all hold, their knowledge is their weapon. You guys also have thick accents, rough words, sharp tongues." David huffs from the area he's at hearing Quincy's words. "Except you, you come more from Lorwolten than you do Vera..." He observes, despite what a ditz quincy he is sure knows alot about everyone here. David grumbles something and quincy smirks knowing he got on his nerves he moves on to me pointing the stick in my direction. "Stace comes from Shiro. Silky with a swooping low is the type of accent they have and he has it thick." He says proudly, I chuckle lightly at his observation.
He now gestures to himself and Lauren, "we come from Osa, mangrove swamp, deep red wood. I know my voice sounds phlegmy because of my accent." if only he could be that self aware in other ways. He now points to Steven, "ethellia... ehhhh... I didn't learn too much about it because it was kind of uncomfortable to read the book we had at our village about it. But you guys have dark stale accents, flat voices, not a lot of emotion, very monotone." He says, his voice is quieter now, I raise an eyebrow at his soft expression as his gaze lingers on Steven for a bit too long, he looks away abruptly.
Lauren is scowling at him, she knows. We all do. Lauren is snappy now, "Certainly don't look uncomfortable around the ethellian that comes from the village of that author..." she grumbles. Now it's Quincy's time to glare, he narrows his eyes at her. He doesn't say anything though but continues his little presentation.
"Perven is a beautiful place with lots of great history in the roots of its trees, I hope you all learned something about the others in this cave." His voice has a scowl to it. I sigh, getting ready to mediate if I have to, that's what we were known for in the dark forest, mediators, I know, sounds stupid right. It's laughable, it just sounds like it should be something cooler, like magic. We have magic users but their not what were known for. "I never knew stace was from dark wood, so I guess we did learn something." Seara smiles at Quincy, she knew i came from there, she's just trying to lessen the tension that's choking the air. I give a light smile in her direction. She gives one back. I push away a thought, wishing Steven had not come into the picture. Ever since he's come quincy's been head over heels for him, and it's pretty obvious based on conversations he and his sister, Lauren, have about him.
"I had known, it was quite obvious. You can tell by the way his accent sounds." Steven says his voice is cold. No warmth, hasn't been any since we've known him. "And just the way he talks in general, it seems of shiro." Lauren looks over at him dumbfounded, there is hostility in her stare. She doesn't say anything as quincy beams. "Exactly, that's how I could tell David did not come from Vera but came from the ice spikes instead!" He says it like he's the happiest he could've been. It's not a surprise Steven didn't need an introduction to us, he seemed to read us all like a script in his language. Ethelian are like that in a way, able to tell what a person is like at a glance, their priests are at least.
Talking about steven, he has this tattoo on his left arm, covered now by his purple scar, it looks almost like a burn; Its a circle on his elbow with a line down to his wrist, his hand has a peony on it, HIGHEST OF HERO is on his shoulder showing up a light pink now instead of black. He says he has no idea why it happened but can assume it was due to the spreading of a probable infection of the virus, this only makes Lauren hate him more. Unless you live under a rock, you know what the peony means for their tattoos, highest rank in priests. It means he was at the highest standing among maybe fifty some other priests, there are usually only three. Everyone knows a lot about ethellia, nobody really is very fond of their ways.
They are extremely religious in almost pushy or put-down ways. In an if you don't believe in HERO, why bother living, kind of way. I'm pulled from my thoughts of Ethellia as someone taps my shoulder, I look over to see David, he's got a confused look on his face. "What's Lauren on about, Steven being infected an' all that?" my eyebrows shoot up in surprise, i sigh heavily. I look over and Lauren is screaming at Steven to get out, his eye is white.
It sends a shiver down my spine.
