"Another late night meeting with Hajoon?"

I roll my eyes, "Don't say it like that. We're just meeting about my marketing project."

Dohyun's suspicion grows. "Then why is it just the two of you? Why isn't the whole team meeting?"

"Because I'm in charge," I answer, giving him an exhausted look.

He nods, "Fine, but I'll be waiting for you again."

He stands from the chair and leaves my office, most likely going to his own. I chew on my lip, I hate lying to him. I'm not sure how much longer I can do this.

My phone alarm goes off, signaling the end of my shift. I sigh and gather my things. There's not anything important to tell Hajoon. So, hopefully, this will go by quickly.

Mr. Wi opens the door before I can knock. I step back in surprise and bow. He just steps aside, staring at me expectantly.

The chairs are directly in front of his desk now. I have to scoot one back in order to sit down. When he sits in front of me, I begin speaking.

"I don't have any useful information. The only thing he said was that he doesn't want to be a politician but has no choice in the matter."

"Do you believe him?"

I'm taken aback by his question. He doesn't say anything else, just waits for me to answer.

"I'm not sure, but I don't think my opinion matters," I answer.

He finally looks away from me to type on his keyboard. It's awkward now, or at least I think it is. I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to say or do.

"Did you enjoy your time with him?"

"I guess he's a funny guy, very charming. I would've enjoyed it a lot more if I didn't know he's a murderer and quite literally feared for my life the whole time."

He stops typing and looks at me, "He's a politician, of course he's charming."

His tone is serious, but I can't help but laugh. He gives me a confused look, to which I just smile and shake my head.

"Sorry," I reply.

He continues looking at me, "You don't need to apologize."

I nod, not knowing what else to say. He looks back at the computer screen. A small crease forming between his eyebrows as he focuses.

"Is there anything else you need from me?"

"No, you are dismissed."

I bow before walking to the door. When I open the door, I turn back, "Sorry, I didn't have any useful information. Goodnight."

I shut the door before he can respond and meet up with Dohyun so we can go home.

"I won't be at work in the morning, but I'll still ride with you to the office," Dohyun says.

I shake my head, "You don't need to do that."

"I'm doing it anyway, I've already told mom to pick me up from the office."

Dohyun's going to visit his uncle in the hospital, along with his mother. The hospital is a few hours away, so it'll be an overnight trip.

"Momma Lee is coming?" I ask excitedly.

He rolls his eyes, "Yes, and she's very excited to see you."

"I haven't seen her in so long," I say, sitting in my normal seat on the bus.

"You saw her three weeks ago," he mutters.

I laugh, "You're just jealous because your mom likes me more."

"I don't understand it," he says, groaning in annoyance.

I shrug, "It's okay, my mom likes you more."

He perks up. "When is momma (L/n) coming back?"

"She should be here next month," I reply.

He smirks, "Maybe you'll have a boyfriend by then."

"That's a weird thing to say."

"It'd get our moms to lay off of me for a bit. They're still harassing me over our failed attempt at dating."

"You should've been a better boyfriend," I say, shrugging.

He follows me off the bus, "I was the greatest boyfriend!"

"Our relationship lasted two days," I reply.

"And those were the best two days of your life."

I open my front door, not bothering to hold it open for him. He stumbles behind me, kicking his shoes off. "See? You're not denying it."

"Dohyun, it's late. We can talk about you being a horrible boyfriend later."

"I was an amazing boyfriend," he says, pouting before marching off to the guest room.
