Akshara sat in her cabin, breathing heavily, still in shock from all that had happened between her and Abhimanyu, cursing herself for losing control over her senses. It was as if his eyes had hypnotized hers, making her lose her grip on reality. Their eye contact created a parallel world where only they existed.

But the moment was cut short by Mayuri's arrival, which dragged Akshara back to the real world, where she knew it would never be possible for her to be with someone as perfect as Abhimanyu. He was gentle and caring, handsome and bold. On the other hand, she was broken beyond repair, so hurt that it was impossible to mend the wounds-not to mention the trauma that resurfaced more often than she could handle. Sometimes, smiling was the hardest and most painful thing she did in a day. And she knew for sure that she wasn't the kind of person Abhimanyu deserved in his life.

He deserved someone not so broken and wounded, someone who wasn't as traumatized as she was, someone who wasn't her.

A loud knock on the door pulled Akshara out of her depressing thoughts, but before she could say "come in," the person on the other side barged in.

Mayuri stood in the doorway, breathing heavily, gasping for air as if she had run all the way from the therapy room.

She sat across from Akshara, grinning teasingly, and Akshara looked down shyly, knowing the reason behind Mayuri's teasing.

"Toh tumhara aur Doctor Abhimanyu ka love matter hain?" Mayuri asked with a toothy smile. ("So, is there a love matter going on between you and Doctor Abhimanyu?")

"N-Nahi humara koi matter ka love nahi chal raha hain," Akshara stammered, her words jumbled as she shook her head vigorously in denial. ("N-No, there’s no love of matter going on between us.")

Mayuri smirked victoriously, crossing her arms across her chest.

"Mujhse matt chhupao, Akshara. Main apne mohalle ki ekmev love guru hoon, dur dur se log mujhse advice lene aate hain," she boasted dramatically, straightening her invisible collar. ("Don’t hide it from me, Akshara. I’m the one and only love guru of my neighborhood; people come from far and wide to take advice from me.")

Realizing she was caught, Akshara’s cheeks turned rosy.

"Aww, ladki sharma gayi," Mayuri gushed, adoring how cute Akshara looked. ("Aww, the girl is blushing.")

"Dhatt! Main koi sharma varma nahi rahi... voh bas achanak se garmi lag rahi hain," Akshara excused. ("Ugh! I’m not blushing... it’s just suddenly feeling hot.")

Mayuri was about to tease her again but refrained, seeing that Akshara was already a blushing mess. She decided to probe the topic more during lunch and shifted the conversation to work instead.

She placed some documents in front of Akshara, who looked at them with a questioning gaze.

"Tina ne yeh diye hain tumhare liye," Mayuri explained, sliding the documents towards her. ("Tina has given these for you,")

"This is the list of patients who will be shifting to this building specifically for music therapy... But wouldn’t it be hard for the doctors to treat them if some are still under observation? A few of these names are marked as severe cases and are still recovering from wounds," Akshara asked, confused.

Mayuri shook her head and answered, "No, it won’t be a problem since this NGO is an extended wing of Birla Hospital with a different main entrance, but it’s still connected to the hospital. One of the hallways even directly leads to the reception and cafeteria."
