When Akshara and her friends walked out of the building, it was already dark outside, but to Akshara, this seemed like the most beautiful evening ever, as did everything else after Abhimanyu's confession.
"Akshi, jab se tune apne ghar ki mutter kachori ki taarif ki hai, mujhse toh raha hi nahi jaa raha," Mayuri stated, rubbing her tummy. ("Akshi, ever since you praised your home's mutter kachori, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it,")
"Tu Akshi ke ghar jaake aise behave mat karna, samjhi," Tina warned, at which Akshara chuckled. ("When you go to Akshi's house, don't behave like that, understand?")
"Ab jaldi se chalo, nahi toh meri Badi Mumma ki banaai hui tasty kachoriya thandi ho jaayengi," Akshara reminded them. ("Now, hurry up, or the tasty kachoris made by my Badi Mumma will get cold,")
After listening to Akshara's praises about her Badi Mumma's special mutter kachori, Mayuri pleaded to have them today itself, and Akshara, being herself, couldn’t deny her request. She smiled, remembering the conversation she had with Swarna earlier on the phone when she was alone in her cabin.
——FLASHBACK OF THE CALL——
"Hello Badi Mumma..." she greeted, still not sure if she should burden her Badi Mumma with so much work.
"Hello beta, bol kaise phone kiya?" Swarna asked, as it was unusual for her to call home during working hours. When there was a pause on Akshara's side, her worries increased tenfold. "Teri tabiyat toh theek hai naa... Firse bukhaar toh nahi aaya naa... aisa kar, tu half-day lekar ghar aa jaa." ("Hello dear, tell me, why did you call?" "You're feeling alright, aren't you? You haven't caught a fever again, have you? Do one thing, take a half-day and come home.")
"Nahi Badi Mumma, aap shant ho jaaiye. Main bilkul theek hoon. Mujhe toh aapse kuch puchna tha isliye phone kiya," she answered hurriedly, not wanting Swarna to worry about her. ("No Badi Mumma, please calm down. I'm perfectly fine. I actually called to ask you something.")
"Tune toh mujhe daraa hi diya tha. Ab bata, kya puchna tha?" Swarna asked, noticeably more relaxed than before. ("You really scared me. Now, tell me, what did you want to ask?")
"Voh... main aaj apne friends ko ghar par invite karna chahti thi. Kya main shaam ko unhe apne saath le aau agar aapko koi problem naa ho toh?" Akshara asked, feeling nervous, unsure if she would agree or not. ("Well... I wanted to invite my friends over to our house today. Is it okay if I bring them along in the evening, if it's not a problem for you?")
"Haan beta, mujhe kya problem hogi. Tu apne friends ko jab chahe ghar laa sakti hai," Swarna assured her, realizing that it was hard for Akshara to place her happiness first, not wanting to inconvenience others.
"Badi Mumma, ek request thi..." Akshara trailed off, once again hesitant to burden Swarna with the task of making kachoris and snacks for her friends, but having no other option, she finally put forth her request. "Voh, agar aap unke liye kachoriya bana sakti toh... actually aaj maine aapke haath ki kachoriyo ki bohot tareef kardi thi. Tabse dono zid kar rahi hain ki unhe aapke haath ki kachoriya khaani hain... I promise I'll help too." She internally promised that as soon as she reached home, she wouldn’t let Swarna work in the kitchen. ("Badi Mumma, I have one request..."
"Could you make kachoris for them? Actually, I praised your kachoris a lot today, and since then, both of them have been insisting on tasting your kachoris... I promise I'll help too.")
