Chapter EIGHT: "cats" 第八章「猫」
'But we cannot just simply stare at our wounds forever.'

"AHHH!!!" THE MARINES yelled, watching the teenage girl dissapear and reappear behind them before they ended up in a wall, a mirage of animals appearing anywhere and everywhere before Luffy shouted out to her.
"MIGHT WANNA' DUCK!"
(Y/n) quite literally turned into a duck as the remaining marines were knocked unconscious by Luffys Gum-Gum Whip.
"Yes! You knocked them out!" Koby cheered for Luffy, (Y/n) turned into a cat as she sat on the rubber boys shoulder. "Wanna' tell me what the hell you guys are?" Zoro stood up, glaring suspiciously at the two teenagers.
"I'm just a guy who ate the gum-gum fruit." Luffy held i his is leg in front of him, the body part swaying back and forth as if there were no bones. "What's the gum-gum fruit?" Zoro asked, j hi invest curiosity coaxing his voice.
One of the marines sweat dropped, "A rubber person?" "It looks like he does have devil fruit powers!" "Captain we don't stand a chance against them!" "Yeah just look at them! They're insane! We couldn't even take on the teenage girl by herself!"
(Y/n) tuned out the incessant yapping of marines. "THIS IS A DIRECT ORDER! EVERY MARINE THAT JUST SPOUTED WEAKNESS MUST NOW SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE HEAD!"
(Y/n) widened her eyes, glancing at the men who began shaking in their boots. "What babies..." Zoro grunted, his knees folding slightly as he readied his swords. (Y/n) sighed before she turned into a lioness, walking from behind Zoro as using his legs as a scratching post before he looked down at her.
"WHAT THE HELL!?" He jumped away, watching the lion glance at him, red eyes. "The hell are you?" The moss head questioned (Y/n) before she turned away glancing at the military troop. "This'll be easy." Zoro brought himself back from his internal shock, glaring at the marines.
"Hey...they were supposed to be ours..." (Y/n) grounded out, sitting down before she began to lick her paw, her captain running past the two. "Luffy!" Koby shouted in concern as he watched his new friend charge at the 'all-mighty' marines. "Bring those marines crumbling to their knees!"
Zoro took his sword from his mouth, watching his new captain attack the marine Sargent, axe-hand Morgan.
"What the..." Zoro grunted when the orange cat curled itself onto his broad shoulders, its tail wrapped around his neck. The man sweat dropped slightly at the teenage girl.
"Rankless, low-life scum! You have no right to defy my superiority!" The marine captain shouted, throwing his cape-like-jacket behind him. Luffy stood in front of him, his fists raised as he prepared to fight the cocky-cyborg-abnormally tall guy with no style. "I'm the navy captain! Ace-hand Morgan!"
A long pause sounded throughout the court yard before Luffy jumped up at the man who charged at him. "And I'm Luffy, nice to meetcha'."
(Y/n)'s attention completely strayed from the fight at hand as she brought her paws her to mess with Zoro's earrings. "Stop that." Zoro swatted at the feline, the greenette completely absorbed into the fight at hand. "I said stop that!"
This time, (Y/n) did stop it, eyeing Luffy kick the navy captain across the face who landed on the floor, before Luffy grabbed the marines collar, pulling him up to eye level, "You call yourself a marine but you destroyed my friend, Cobys dream!"
One punch, two punch.
"Hold it right there, Straw hat! Look what i got!" Helmeppo shouted, "Huh..." Her and Zoro glanced in the direction.
Three punch. Four punch.
"I said hold it! Are you stupid or something!?" There was a gun to Cobys head, the pinkette seemingly just realizing the predicament he was in. "I said stop! If you would pay attention to me I have a hostage here!"
"Luffy." "Hey." His two crew mates informed, finally drawing the boys attention to Coby. "If you value this guys life, don't move!" Helmeppo shouted, his hand shaking as his pointer finger rested on the trigger. "I'm serious! One move and I'll shoot him! I swear!" The blonds voice got scratchy after all the yelling.
A long pause. A silence filled pause.
"Hehe..." Luffy grinned with a little giggle. "Luffy, listen! Don't let anything that happens to me stop you from achieving your dream! Even if I die!" The little twat shouted, (Y/n) tail wagging slightly against Zoro's collar bone.
Was she lucky or what?
"Of course! You got it!" Luffy was still grinning, his eyes closed. "Ya' hear that you bug idiot? Coby is ready to die by your hand."
Zoro had raised eyebrows as he watched the raven walk past the two, to the blonde holding the gun. "I-I told you don't move! I'll shoot!" Empty threats spouted from the cocky marines mouth.
"Luffy! Behind you!" Coby shouted a desperate plea. An axe was raised. "Times up, for I am fearless marine captain, axe hand Morgan!"
(Y/n) grunted as her and Zoro disappeared from the previous spot. "Gum-Gum pistol!" Luffy punched the blonde away from Coby, the two of the flying back.
