"What is it?" Mayukh asked, entering the auditorium.
"Where were you?" Ved asked, approaching him.
"Nowhere." Mayukh replied.
"You were with Nikita, weren't you?" Ved teased.
Mayukh smirked, "Yeah."
"How do you manage to get her to go with you?"
"I just ask her and you know me, I always get what I want."
"Be careful. Don't be forceful." Arup added.
"Haan don't worry. Your boudi is in safe hands."Everyone chuckled.
"Now tell, what's the work to be done?"Nikita POV:
I reached my room hurriedly and sat on my bed.
Why am I getting closer to him? How rude do I have to be?!
I picked up my phone to see Ayush's message:
Hey Nikita! Ayush here. When do you wanna work on the project?
I instantly replied: Tomorrow at 10? In the library?
He sent a thumbs up confirmation and I went to sleep.~•~•~•~
The next morning, I got up and did my bathroom business showered and put on a strapped sleeveless black top with cargo like jeans underneath. I got my jacket in hand and did my basic makeup and braided my hair. I still had the N necklace around me but I was loving it way too much to let it go.
I hurried and made my way to the library, where I saw Ayush waiting.
"Hi!" I said, sitting next to him.
"Hey Nikita! How are you?"
"Good! You?"
"I'm great! Let's start!"
We sat down and started working. Suddenly, we heard a lot of noise approaching us loudly. We looked up to see the Roy brothers and Rita's friend group entering the library sitting opposite us. We ignored it and continued to work.
"Well well well, if it isn't the latest couple in town!" Riya said.
We looked up and saw everyone looking at us.
"Hi Riya...." Ayush said, "There's no such thing."
"Don't worry Ayush. It's cute." Riya said.
"Like I said Riya, no such thing. Relax."
"Hi Nikita." Riya turned to me, "How are you?"
"G...Good."
"I'm glad. I'm glad you're better off."
"Yeah." I said, knowing what she meant. I saw Mayukh from the corner of my eye and saw him looking at me intently.
"Ayush. Can we go grab lunch? I'm pretty hungry." I asked Ayush.
"Sure." He said and started wrapping his stuff.
I did the same and started walking when suddenly a deep voice stopped us, "Guys."
We turned to see Mayukh approaching us. I gulped in fear and tried to look away.
"Yes Mayukh?" Ayush asked.
"Will you two be joining the semester ball?"
"I will, I'm not too sure about Nikita," he turned to me, "are you gonna be joining?"
I didn't know what to say, I don't think I will go so I just said, "No."
"Oh! Why not?"
"It's... it's not my thing." I replied, with Mayukh's piercing gaze making me nervous.
"Everyone's going to come." Mayukh announced looking straight into my eyes, "It's the semester ball, no one skips it."
Ayush chuckled, "That's mostly true!"
Suddenly, a familiar voice came into the room and my heart relaxed, "Hey!"
I turned to see Aisha walking to us, "Aisha!" I said, running to her, "How are you here?"
"I was finding you and I remembered your work group was here, so I showed up. How are you?"
"Good."
We caught up to the rest of the group.
"Oh Ayush, this is my roommate, Aisha." I introduced her to Ayush, "Aisha, this is my team partner, Ayush."
"Hi Ayush!" Aisha shook his hands.
"Hi Aisha," Ayush replied.
Why are they staring? Is there a spark? Omg!
"Why don't you guys join us for lunch?" Mayukh announced, pulling everyone's attention.
"Sure!" Aisha said, along with everyone.
I'm not joining these guys. Heck no! I don't want to be around these people.
"You guys carry on. I need to get some work done."
"How much do you work babe?" Aisha said.
"Chup kar!" I chuckled, "I'll catch you guys later."I left the library and walked towards my room. Once I entered, I closed the door and started to head inside but before I could, my arms were pulled by someone. I shut my eyes in force and felt myself being pinned to the wall. I opened my eyes and saw Mayukh gazing intently at me. My eyes widened.
"What... are you doing here?"
"I can go wherever I want, whenever I want."
"Not here." I tried to be stern.
He came closer and rested his hand around my waist, and buried his face in the crook of my neck. I tried to push him away but his hold was too tight.
"Don't struggle. No point." He whispered as his hand moved along my shoulder down along my arm. I felt goosebumps across my body.
"Mayukh.... Please... let go." I tried to talk. My breath was caught in my throat.
"Breathe darling, breathe." He said, his hand caressing my face. I felt a weird sense of relief as I let go and breathed lightly.
He let go and looked into my eyes, my eyes gazing into his light brown eyes. I felt him come closer and I panicked. No! What's he doing?!
"Relax meri jaan. It won't happen until your eyes say yes." He replied, as if reading my mind.
He grabbed my hand and guided me to my room, I followed him, confused.
"What are you doing here?" I tried to ask.
"I told you. I can do whatever I want."
"Why does that include me?"
"Oh babe...." He came closer and grabbed my waist, "I haven't done you yet." He said winking.
My eyes widened and I realized what I said. Ugh.
"No... I... I don't mean that."
"Not yet." He replied.
"Leave me." I tried to let go. Surprisingly, he did.
He made himself comfortable on my bed as I watched him, standing by my door.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"I want to have lunch with you. I'm here to pick you up. Let's go."
"W...what?"
"Are you deaf, mishbo?" He said.
"No I'm not."
"Then hurry up. We're going for lunch."
"I... I'm not going with you."
"And why not?" He said, leaning against the bed.
"Because.... I... I can't."
He got up and walked to me, "You can and you will. Chalo now." He grabbed my hand and we headed out.
"Lock the door." He said while walking.
I did as he said and walked with him, his hand not leaving mine.We sat in his car and stepped out of the campus grounds. I was watching him drive. He indeed is good looking. The most good looking guy in the university. He suits it. His grey sweatshirt and black cargo pants with his sleeve rolled up made him look so good. His arm had a tattoo and his face was stern, sharp features and those attractive light brown eyes.
"Like what you see, darling?" He said, looking.
"What.... No... I... I wasn't looking." I stuttered.
"Totally."
"Where are we going?"
"What do you want to eat? Indian, Italian?"
"I don't know."
"In that case, we're eating Italian."
"Mayukh... this isn't a good idea. Please."
He stopped the car in front of the restaurant and then looked at me, "why is it not a good idea?"
"Because we're not.... we're not friends."
"Who said I'm here on a friendly lunch?"
"W...what?"
"I don't want to be friends with you." He said coming closer, his eyes darkening.
"W...what do you want then?" I whispered.
"You already know... and if not, you'll know soon enough." He said caressing my face.
I sat there, unable to process.
"Let's go." He said, getting down the car and coming to me. He opened my door and held his hand out. I slowly held it and got down to see a beautiful restaurant. We walked inside. Mayukh led the way, his hand intertwined in mine.
"Hi Sir, table for two?" The waiter asked.
"Yes."
"Right this way."
He led us to a secluded spot, by the water.
