Jungkook's POV
Tapping my foot on the accelerator, I cut through traffic, cursing as I hit yet another red light. I punched the steering wheel in frustration, every second feeling like an eternity. I needed to get to Taehyung's apartment before Hanni picked up Taeyeon.
I needed to see her. I needed to know if she had the nerve to face me after those posts on Instagram.
F*ck.
The memory of her Instagram posts still burned in my mind. I had been at the studio, recording a feature song with a foreign artist, when I saw the notification. Hanni never used her socials much, so my heart had leaped at the sight of her name. But then I saw the photos.
Her with another man at a cafe, flowers in her hand, and the last photo-her in a robe, in a hotel. I had nearly lost it. I dialed her number, but she kept ending my calls.
Now, I needed answers. I needed to see if she could look me in the eye and explain herself. The light turned green, and I floored it, weaving through the remaining traffic until I reached Taehyung's apartment complex. I parked haphazardly and sprinted to the elevator, my heart pounding with anger.
Suddenly, I remembered the first time I saw her in a Polaroid photo I had stolen from her sister Jean. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eyes on, yet she was nothing but a dream to me-a dream because it wasn't possible to have a relationship with her. I had only known her from her sister's stories and that one photo.
That day when she walked into my room, filling in a position as a temporary nanny, my heart dropped and stopped at the sight of her in person.
Fuck, she was stunning. She was a bit skinnier then, and she didn't wear any makeup, but she was burned into my mind like a brand.
I was crazy for her. I'd been since I met her.
Now, that dream had come true. It got even better when I found out she was pregnant with my child. But now, I hadn't felt more scared in my life, realizing I could really lose her this time.
It's been complicated ever since she ran away from us.
As the elevator doors opened, I almost ran into Taehyung in the hallway. Just like me, he seemed unease, holding a phone in his hand.
"Whoa, Jungkook! Slow down," he said, holding up a hand to stop me
"Is Hanni here yet?" I barely registered his concern, my eyes darting past him.
Taehyung shook his head. Anger etched in his face.
"No, but she should be here soon. Taeyeon's inside sleeping..and Haerin went back to the office." He spats, clenching his teeth.
I nodded, pushing past him into the apartment. Taeyeon's in his crib in the living room, baby songs echoed around the room that momentarily brought me calm.
"Jungkook," Taehyung murmurs, his eyes flicking up to meet mine with a knowing look. "Do you think it's Hyun-Woo?"
"I don't know," I muttered, pacing the room.
Taehyung nodded, his expression cold but softened when his eyes darted to the crib. We couldn't lose our temper in front of our son.
Just then, the doorbell rang, and my heart stopped. Taehyung stood up, motioning for me to follow him to the door.
As it swung open, there she was. Hanni stood there, looking pretty and pregnant as she always did, but something in her eyes had changed. She looked guilty, but defiant. Jimin stood beside her, his hand resting on her back as she guides her inside.
