Clark's Mother up top*
__________________
It was Monday and I tried to call my mother ever since yesterday but she ignored all the calls. Meranda was asleep in the living room as Thomas slept on a blanket on the floor. Brenda was coming over in a few hours in the afternoon in order to watch Thomas for me while I took Meerkat out to get some items.
I heard the television go on and walked into the kitchen from the dining room.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked Meranda as she grabbed a juice from the fridge. Her eyes were red and she was paler than before.
"Just can't believe mom left me for a piece of shi*." she said.
"Hey, watch your mouth okay? I get you're almost 13 and all but not in front of me. I can't believe it either, I'm sorry." I replied. She shook her head and sniffled. It was about 11 a.m. and seeing her cry this early made me upset. Seeing her cry at all upset me.
I picked up my cellphone that had began to ring.
"Go check on Terrence for me." I said. I answered the call. "Gonzales?"
"Hey it's Bello." a voice said. Bello was another team mate of mine who's married to a Victoria's Secret Angel. She was a nice woman, older than him, and they recently had a child together.
"What's up man?" I asked.
"Lynch is in the hospital, he got really wasted last night at one of the clubs and got hit by a car while crossing the street. He's in critical condition right now. Apparently his spleen is ruptured and ribs shattered."
"Are you shitting me, out next game is in two months." I said. I groaned. Lynch was my linebacker and a hell of a great one. "I'll be there in an hour at the hospital."
"We don't think he's going to make it man, see you there."
I hung up and thought to myself if I really should take Meranda and Terrence to the hospital to see one of my team mates die. I decided to call for the sitter. No answer.
I walked back out to the living room and called out for my sister. "Can you do me a favor?"
"What?"
"I need you to watch Thomas." I said. "It's an emergency and I'll be back home as soon as possible."
"Yeah."
"I'll give you the card with my security guards' number and also Brenda's-"
"Brenda? She lives in this state? Are you dating her?"
"No, I'll explain later. Please just be safe and keep all the doors locked and set the alarm when I leave. I'll write the code down." I said. She nodded as I did everything I told her I'd do; I left shortly after and sped to the hospital.
The first person I happened to notice was my love, Brenda. Though I remembered her saying that she'd be off all week. She was rushing to file papers and I went to the desk she was at.
"Oh, hey!"
"Hey Bren, what're you doing here?"
"They called me in and said it was desperate for some guy so I'm getting his file now and then I'll be out to come to your house soon." she smiled.
"I don't even know if I'll be there. One of my teammates is on the verge of death right now so I'm kinda panicking. What's the name of the patient you're looking for?"
