Blare's POV - October 16, 2023
I was at work, and Mr. Evander has been acting strange lately. He's been kinder to me than usual, which is odd because he's always been a bit weird, but now he's weirder in a way that's hard to ignore. Still, it's not something I should worry about. It's been a month since we started searching for the Ren family, and we recently discovered that the father isn't dead. It's crazy, considering he was in a car accident with the mother three or four years ago. Somehow, he survived—lucky him. We also found out that the father was behind the drug trafficking and murders—all that scary stuff. So basically, the heir is innocent, or at least it seems that way. We're getting closer and closer to taking down the Ren clan.
After work, I headed to the mall to meet up with Aria. She wanted to take me shopping as a birthday gift. When I arrived, I spotted her right away and waved.
"Hey!" I greeted her as I walked over.
"Heeyyyyyy!" she replied, excitement radiating from her.
"Someone's excited," I noted.
"Of course! Your birthday is this weekend!" she reminded me.
"I know, I'm so excited too!" I said, sharing her enthusiasm.
"Let's throw a party," she suggested.
"No," I quickly shot down the idea.
"Why not? I'll plan it all," she promised.
"Fine, but you're planning it," I conceded.
"Yay! Let's go get you some dresses!" she said, dragging me to the shops.
We tried on a ton of clothes and dresses, and of course, ended up buying way more than we needed. Finally, we sat down at a restaurant to rest our tired legs and ordered some food.
"I'm so tired," I sighed.
"Me too, my legs hurt," she agreed, then suddenly smiled at her phone.
"Who is it?" I asked, curious.
"No one," she said, trying to brush it off.
"Tell me," I pressed.
"No," she resisted.
"Come on," I said, trying to peek at her screen.
"Fine, stop it," she laughed.
"Tell me," I insisted.
"Fine, it's Nathan," she finally admitted.
"Nathan?" I repeated, surprised.
"Yes, Nathan," she confirmed.
"I knew it," I said, grinning.
"Knew what?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You like him," I teased.
"No, I don't," she denied.
"Yes, you do," I teased back.
"No, I don't," she insisted.
"Then why were you smiling while texting him?" I pointed out.
"No, I wasn't," she tried to defend herself.
We went back and forth until the food finally arrived. After we ate, we paid the bill and left the mall. I said goodbye to Aria and headed home. Once there, I tried on my new clothes, hung them up, and then decided to unwind with some TV.
(Sorry for the short chapter I didn't know what to write)
