Blare's pov

We shook hands, and I smiled at him just as the barista called my name. "Oh, that's my order," I said awkwardly and went to get my food. Nicholas followed me and stopped in front of me.

"Blare," he said.

I looked up at him. "Yes?"

"Can I have your number?" Nicholas asked boldly.

I stared at him for a few seconds, flustered. "Oh, uh... yeah, sure you can."

He smiled and handed me his phone. As I typed my number, my cheeks burned. "There," I said, handing back his phone.

"Thanks. See you later," Nicholas said.

"Yeah, see you later," I replied, still flustered.

He smiled and left. I stood there, processing what just happened. *A GORGEOUS guy asked ME FOR MY NUMBER.* I was daydreaming until my phone rang. Snapping back to reality, I grabbed my phone from my bag. It was Mr. Evander. *Gosh, did he really need to call? I'm not even late.*

I sighed and picked up the call. "Yes, Mr. Evander."

"Come to the office now," he said and hung up. I sighed, grabbed my breakfast, and headed to the office.

Upon arrival, I went to his office and knocked on the door. Entering, I said, "I'm here, sir."

His eyes met mine. "Sit down," he said.

"Okay, sir." I sat down.

"I found the picture of the heir of the Ren family, but it's not clear," he said.

"Can I see?" I asked.

"Yes." He showed me the picture. It was very blurry, only showing the heir's hair and body; his face was covered.

"The picture is unclear," I replied.

"It is, isn't it," he said.

"Yes, sir."

He sighed. "This is tougher than I thought."

"He's been very careful. It's going to be very hard to find out things about him," I replied.

"You can go now," Mr. Evander said.

I left his office and went to mine. As I worked, I ate my croissant and drank my iced Americano, thinking about Nicholas. He was so sweet and handsome—too good to be true. But I didn't know him yet. He seemed like a sweet guy, though. I decided to call Aria, my bestie.

She answered, "Hey, Blare."

"Bro," I said.

"Who did you meet?" she asked, confused.

"How did you know?" I asked, equally confused.

"Just answer—who did you MEET?" she insisted.

"A guy called Nicholas," I said.

"Was he hot?" she asked.

"Super," I replied, and we started laughing.

"Tell me what happened right now," she demanded.

I started telling her everything.

After I finished, she exclaimed, "Omggg girl, you're so lucky!"

"I know, he's so fine," I replied.

"Anyways, wanna go to the club tonight?" she asked.

"Of course, I need a drink. Work has been tough," I said.

"Same here. My boss is such a bitch," she sighed.

"See you tonight," I said.

"You too," she said excitedly.

I hung up and tried to finish work quickly. After a couple of hours, I finished and left the office, driving home. I rushed upstairs to get ready, doing my hair and changing out of my work clothes into a leopard print shirt, a long black skirt, and a purse.

Aria called just as I finished getting ready. I answered, "Ready?"

"Yes, I'm outside," Aria said.

"Okay, coming!" I said excitedly, hanging up and rushing outside. I saw her car and waved as I walked over.

"Hey!" I said in excitement.

"Hi!" she replied, equally excited.

I got in her car, and we listened to music as she drove us to the club. We entered and went straight for some drinks. The club was packed—it was a Saturday night. Aria and I danced to the beat, the atmosphere hectic with people dancing and drinking. We drank a lot and danced. As I danced, I bumped into someone. I turned around and looked up—it was a tall man who looked familiar.

"Blare, what are you doing here?" the man said. I slowly realized it was... F**KING NICHOLAS.
