You sat at your desk in English, taping your pencil against your desk. You were watching the clock rather than listening to Mr. Johns lecture on Frankenstein's letters. You couldn't wait for your "date" with Jeremy. You had told the villains that you were gonna run a few errands after school and weren't sure when you would be back.

After what felt like hours, the final bell rang signaling the end of school. You collected your stuff and met Jeremy outside the classroom. Together you walked to your car.

"So were we going?" Jermey asked as you made your way to the student lot.

"I figured we could head to the cafe for a quick bite and then play it by year," you said, trying not to blush.

"Sounds good to me."

You both exited the school and headed for your car. You hopped in the driver's seat, as Jeremy climbed into the passenger. You started the car and drove off to the Cafe that was just down the road from the school. You drove into the parking lot, finding a spot close to the front.

"Have you ever been here?" Jeremy asked as you pulled into a spot.

You shook your head as you put it in the park. "No, but I hear it's popular. My friends say it's good so I thought we would check it out."

Climbing out of the car, you both headed inside the place. It was a small cafe, painted in pastel colors. The aroma that filled the space was enough to make your stomach rumble. There were several small tables scattered around as well as a counter to order food. Looking up at the chalkboard menu, the food looked better than fast food, but nothing too fancy. Just simple sandwiches and drinks.

"What are you gonna get?" Jeremy asked as he gazed at the menu.

"Probably a tuna sandwich and a lemonade." you looked up at him "You?"

"The BLT on a croissant looks good. Probably gonna get an iced coffee as well."

You then approach the counter. Jeremy said his order first then gestured with his head for you to go. You shake your head. "No, I can order myself."

"Please, you're driving us around, at least let me buy you some food." He pulled out his debit card. "Let this be on me."

You smiled and thanked him before placing your order. You watched as he swiped his card with his delicate hands. You both then found a table next to the large glass window that looked out onto the parking lot.

"So, how was your day?" you said trying to make small talk.

"Good" Jeremy responded with a smile "You?"

"Fine," you replied as you leaned back in your chair. "Just hoping to get through the year is all."

"You and I both," Jeremy replied. "So tell me about yourself, I hardly know you other than we both had cancer and that your class president."

You let out a small chuckle. "Well, what is it you want to know?"

"How about your hobbies?" He suggested.

You tilted your eyes to the sky as you thought for a moment. "Well, there's my passion for film. I also loved to act and write. Currently working on a book for my senior project."

"A book that sounds interesting. And acting, you must be doing the school musical?"

A wide smile appeared on your face "Definitely, Come From Away is my favorite!"

"It's a good one, but I prefer Mama Mia," Jeremy said casually.

You looked at him with surprise. You did take him as a musical person. "Really?"
