"Yeah, I'm heading out the door right now."

"Hey, Ben, what's going on?"

Ben stopped in his trek to his car, stunned, "How do you know where I live?" He prepared to scrap if need be.

"I dropped the baby girl off here before; we all spent time here before," Kentrell explained as he backed away.

"Oh, oh! I never got your name."

"Kentrell." The two shook hands, followed by a firm hug.

"So what you doing here so early?"
Kentrell placed his hands in his coat pocket before moving them to his jeans pocket. "Well, I was hoping to catch the baby girl. We had a day planned for us." Ben laughed to himself; he appreciated the effort.

"She's not here. I was headed to pick her up now."  Kentrell stayed quiet because his efforts were thwarted. What if she had been out all night and wanted to sleep or didn't feel like going anywhere with him? He didn't know, but his feelings were hurt.

"Would you like to come along so you can see her?" Ben offered, nodding toward where his car was parked. The boy nodded, following him to his car.

"It's so funny——I'm coming, Ben." The two spoke on the car phone, their voices overlapping. Kentrell prepared himself, "This is the door where she's coming out of?" Ben nodded, pointing to the window where the front door could be seen. Kentrell quickly exited the car, unzipping his coat and adjusting his clothing before zipping his jacket up again. Just as he finished fiddling with his attire, the door opened,

"Ben!" Before he could react, she was hugging him. He received her. "My Ben!" She mushed her cheek against his, relaxing in his arms.
