Candy Carrier Chaos pt 1

I was practicing acrobatic stunts in my room because I couldn't sleep. It was almost morning so I thought I would stay awake and do some stretching. I was excited about the adventure today because Caine said it was going to be extra special. I'm guessing he put extra effort into it this time. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be filled with chaos. Life in the circus wasn't boring... it was just lonely. I wanted more people in the circus you know, I wanted a fresh face. The sound of chatter outside my door incentivized me to leave. The door creaked open and I saw Jax and Zooble outside quarreling. They were saying something about a bazooka. I just ignored them and went to wake up Pomni. "Knock knock! Are you in there clown face?" I yelled into the closed door, waiting for a response. The door opened to a very erratic Pomni. "Yo... you good clown face?" I asked. "Ughhh gnhh." Pomni groaned in response. "Nightmares? You're all good. Lighten up, kid!" I exclaimed while patting her head gently. 

I waltzed over into the main room and didn't bother with breakfast. I was too excited to hear about the adventure. My body bounced up and down with joy and anticipation. "You okay? You look like you're about to explode." I heard Jax mutter behind me. I turned to look him In the eyes but I had no response. "Good morning my lovely friends!" I heard a boisterous voice exclaim behind me. My excitement returned as I looked at Caine. "Today's adventure is CANDY CARRIER CHAOS!! The Candy Canyon Kingdom has been robbed of all the maple syrup! Oh no! You have to catch the gummy gator thieves and return the haul!" Caine yelled as colorful visuals appeared beside him. Stars began to form in my eyes and a big grin found its way to my face. "An entire kingdom of candy? Sounds sticky!" Bubble exclaimed. "It sure is Bubble!" Caine replied with a look of disgust that laced his eyes. A loud beep noise appeared to have come from Bubble. "Bubble you can't say that." Caine scolded quietly. 

"Ughhh nope.." Zooble sighed before hobbling away. "Zooble wait! I-I'm testing out a new AI in this one! It should be 97 times more immersive!" Caine protested desperately while flailing his arms in front of him. "Ooooh a new AI. You don't want to mess with the new AI Zoobie?" Jax teased. "No.." Zooble answered blankly before limping away from everyone. 

"This sounds so fun!" I exclaimed while still shaking with excitement. I was already imagining the sweet taste of everything. "You sure you're okay doll? You are already having a sugar rush and we haven't even started!" Jax teased. I narrowed my eyes at him and crossed my arms. "So our entire existence here is just... LARPing?" Pomni timidly interjected. "W-Well uh..." Ragatha muttered in response. "Ooh, I love LARPing!" I squealed. 

W-why are you just st-standing there? The- The Canyon- C-Candy Kingdom needs you!" Caine continued. A portal materialized in front of us with strange colors floating around it. It made swoosh and swish sounds as we were all shoved into it. I found myself standing in pure sugar, enlightenment, and child wonder. Everything around me was colorful and could give any pilgrim a heart attack. 

"Woah where are we!?" I inquired while mindlessly taking in the surroundings. We made our way to the candy castle as the roar of a crowd filled the air along with the scent of mint. "Wow, Kinger! Check out this castle!" Ragatha exclaimed pointing to the sweet palace. "They've even got little candy bugs here!" Kinger replied eyeing the strawberry butterfly that landed on the tip of my nose. I glared at it as it flew away leaving a sticky glaze on my nose. "Yeah, this place is great!" I exclaimed before being rammed into by one of the crowd members making me fall to the ground. "It's the PRINCESS!" The man cheered as I examined my scrapes and bruises. In front of me, I saw the same thing happen to Gangle, and her mask shattered on the floor. "Make way for the princess!" The other mannequin yelled while tears ran down Gangle's tragedy mask. Suddenly a hand reached out in front of me, offering me to take it. 

"You okay Y/N?" Jax softly spoke to me as he lifted me from the ground. "Y-yeah I'm okay..." I replied dusting myself off. "Rude punk" I muttered to myself, glaring at the man who pushed me with no regard for my safety. As I was staring at the mannequin, I realized I was still holding hands with Jax and pulled away. We continue walking to the front of the castle and see a candy woman greeting the crowd from above. She had a crown adorning her tangerine locks that perfectly wrapped around her peppermint face. 

"Ah! You must be the brave knights sent to us by God..." Her voice softly spoke with a slight British accent. She motions to the stained glass window at the very front of the castle that displays a portrait of Caine. "...to help us with our recent catastrophe!" She continued and looked back at us with her wonky eyes laced in eyelashes that could certainly kill a man. 

"That’s us, ma'am!" Ragatha explained. "Your kingdom is awesome! I love the vibes!" I exclaimed with stars in my eyes. The princess giggled softly. "I like you already!" She marveled. "Look Pomni! We're already friends with the princess!" Ragatha remarked. "I'm not a child you don't have to hype me up..." Pomni muttered while glaring at the rag doll. I giggled a bit at that. "I assume you have all been informed of your mission? The bandits that robbed us use a modern syrup tanker, so we figured the best way to go head to head with them was to give you a war rig of your own!" She explained while waltzing down the stairs, picking up her frosting dress so as to not trip. Suddenly a semi-truck crashed in, running over a guy. "Ooh, violence!" Jax smirked looking at the dead man with a mischievous grin. "What time period is this supposed to be again?" Pomni groaned with tired eyes. 

"Here's the key back into the kingdom for when you've secured the goods! I trust you not to let it fall into the wrong hands!" The princess remarked while handing me a key-shaped candy cane. I stared at it processing her orders, before glaring at Jax, knowing his ways. "You can count on us, your highness!" Ragatha responded while motioning to me. "Oh please! Call me Lou!" The candy princess giggled softly. "Will do, Lou!" Ragatha exclaimed as I pocketed the key and walked near the truck. "I call Shotgun!" Jax yelled and hopped in the driver's seat, honking the horn a few times. Instead of a regular horn noise, it was distorted gargles coming from the vehicle. "Oh God is that the horn? Y/N you drive!" Jax yelped before pulling me into the truck and sitting in the passenger seat. I sat there with my hands on the wheel startled as everyone loaded into the truck. "Farewell, good knights! I have every faith in you!" The princess called and waved us goodbye.

Oh my gosh.... first off, I'm soooo sorry I haven't updated in forever! I was waiting for the 2nd episode to release and I started working on this chapter but then forgot about it entirely! I'm so sorry i know you guys love this and I get reminded with every notification! I wanted to update you guys but I didn't want this book to be filled with author notes. Secondly, I DO NOT PLAN TO END THIS BOOK ANY TIME SOON! I love this story and I know you do too! I will tell you guys if I drop it for good. Thirdly, this is a 2 part chapter. I felt it was getting long and I want you guys to be updated now! I will release part 2 soon :p. I will maybe delete all of the author's notes after I finish this book just so the story flows better and will only be doing them at the end like this from now on.
