Damn, they weren't kidding. This place is insanely far," Meggy said as she pulled up to the rather empty train station. Fm had said that the train wouldn't arrive until 7, so it wasn't really a surprise that the train wasn't there yet. Thankfully, the duo had some time to get two tickets before the train arrived. Meggy got out of the car and opened the backseat to get her stuff. Leggy looked at her and smiled, almost seeming to forget what was going on. The little gremlin bounced out of the car, and ran to the door, waiting for Meggy so she could open it. "Thanks for the help," Meggy grumbled as she picked up her duffle bag and slung it over her shoulder. Leggy tried to open the door for Meggy, but it wouldn't budge. The little one turned to Meggy and whimpered, almost disappointed in herself that she couldn't open the door. Meggy smiled at her shorter counterpart and tried to open the door, only to find that it wasn't just stuck, it was locked. "Are you freaking serious? Why? Why today of all days?" She proceeded to curse the door, the universe, and anything else she could think of as she paced back and forth, trying to figure out what to do next. Leggy just sat there and watched her, confused as to why the taller ginger was upset. Meggy sat down on the bench outside, resting her head in her hands, and sighed. She was so close, only to have the stupid train station shut down. What could she do? She could drive, but based on the FM and X's description, she'd never find her way through DeadMemes. She wasn't going back, that was for sure. Leggy hopped up into the bench and began to nuzzle Meggy, but Meggy ignored it and turned her head. Leggy, now upset, began to headbutt Meggy. "Jesus christ-What? What do you want?" Leggy looked at the bag, and signaled her to put it down. Meggy dropped the bag on the floor, and Leggy opened it and took out two water bottles, offering one to Meggy. Meggy took it, and watched as Leggy drank hers. Meggy opened hers and took a sip, then chugged the water, only now realizing how dehydrated she was. After they both finished drinking, Leggy pushed the bag back to Meggy and tugged on her pants, wanting her to get up. Meggy grabbed the bag and stood, then watched as Leggy started walking. Meggy, curious as to what her tiny companion had in mind, followed her to the back of the train. Leggy squeaked, scaring Meggy and making her stop following the other one. The little gremlin then ran as fast as she could to the ticket booth, jumped and broke the glass door. Meggy watched in awe as she grabbed two tickets, then jumped out and handed Meggy a ticket. Meggy took the ticket from her and laughed. "Good job, Leggy. I'm surprised I didn't think of that." She patted Leggy on the head, then turned her attention towards the sound of a train approaching. Leggy braced herself, as if ready to jump, while Meggy patiently waited for the train to slow down. "Train...not stop here...jump..." Leggy said as she grabbed the duffle bag from Meggy. Meggy turned to the other one, confused, and only then did she notice that Leggy was getting ready to jump. Meggy turned around and looked at the stops, and realized Leggy was right, the train wasn't stopping here. So she did what her mini did and prepared herself to jump. Suddenly, Meggy felt a push from behind and went flying into an open cart. "Ow...shit what was that? Leggy? LEGGY!!" Meggy looked around the cart, noticing that Leggy wasn't with her, then looked out and saw Leggy running, no sprinting to the cart. "Leggy, come on! I got you!" Meggy held her hand out, waiting for Leggy to get closer so she could pull her in. Leggy zoomed, and as soon as she was close enough, she jumped and Meggy caught her. They stumbled backwards into the cart and then got up and closed the door. Meggy collapsed to the floor, exhausted from the movie like train jump. As soon as they could catch a breath, Meggy grabbed a snack out of the duffle bag. "Next time you wanna throw me into a moving train, at least warn me." she scolded as she passed Leggy a bag of chips. Leggy rolled her eyes and pushed her chips aside, instead going to her bag and grabbing a blanket. she threw it at Meggy and put herself on top of the bag, almost making herself a nest. Meggy's anger melted as she saw how tired Leggy was, and soon felt how tired she was as well. They had been up for a few days, but now that they were close, the adrenaline was slowly going away. Meggy laid down on the bag next to Leggy, using the bag as a pillow and covering herself with the blanket. As Meggy was falling asleep, Leggy scooted closer to her and Meggy smiled, glad she wasn't in this alone. The duo finally fell asleep, and no nightmares were gonna interrupt Meggy this time.
Not with Leggy around to keep her safe.
