The buildings were made of concrete. Splinter hadn't told them that!
"Isn't this exciting?" Mikey jumped onto the next roof.
"It absolutely is!" Leo was already on that roof, holding his katanas out and letting the moonlight glint off of them.
"Guys, can we... huff huff... take a break? We've been jumping on these roofs all night..." Donnie huffed and wheezed.
"Yeah. Let's take a break." Raph agreed, sitting down next to Leo.
The tiredness in the turtle's bones seeped in as they sat down, the excitement wearing off.
"Hey! Stop! Gitoff!" Voices yelled from the street below.
Leo looked up. "Who's going to check on that?" He asked.
Everyone raised a hand and said "DONNIE!" minus Donnie, who yelled for Leo to check on it.
Donnie groaned. "Do I really have to?"
Everyone nodded.
"Fine." He crept and saw two teenagers rough-housing and laughing.
"Ugh. Nothing much. Just two teenagers down in the street." Donnie shrugged.
"In that case... heads up!" Leo threw a ninja star. It passed over Raph's head, then Mikey's head, then Donnie's head.
"Hey, Lee!" Mikey gasped in shock as the ninja star dinked against the road, right next to one of the teenagers foot.
"Yo, Casey. Ninja star?" One of them, a slightly shorter African American boy, picked up the ninja star.
"How in the world did that get in New York?" A pale girl, slightly taller and with really pale skin, catched it as the boy tossed it to her.
"Hey, who threw this?" The boy looked around, yelling at the rooftops.
"Alex! You can't just yell at 9:17 at night!" The girl seemed to check her watch.
"Oh, shush up Casey. Who threw the ninja star!?" Alex yelled at the sky again.
Leo looked around. "Uh, just me!" He yelled down.
"Well, come down here so I can give it back!" The boy yelled up.
"Umm... you can keep it!" Donnie yelled down.
"Why?" The boy yelled back.
"J-just 'cuz!" Raphael yelled down at him.
"Damn, how many people are up there!?" The girl yelled up.
"Just four, why?" Mikey yelled.
"Oh, okay. Why won't you come do-"
"YOUR BIKES ARE GETTING STOLEN!!" Raphael shot up and pointed as a green and a black bike was getting pedaled away by a man in a dark hoodie.
"OH, OH NO!" The girl yelled, running after him. "C'mon Alex!" She waved her hand for the boy to follow.
Alex started to catch up, yelling behind him "Thanks for alerting us!" to the turtles.
"C'mon. Let's go save those bikes." Leo pinched the edge of his nose.
"Yup." Donnie followed as Leo hopped to the next building, adrenaline surging through their veins yet again.
