BY THE TIME Suzumi stepped foot into the hall, she realized that Yumi was indeed right. The whole thing really was boring. The only thing that was slightly entertaining was Atsumu Miya tripping over air and falling.
Still, they had to participate and show some interest into the conversations, they were forced to have. That's why she was so happy to receive a call and excuse herself.
"Tobio, do you know how much I love you right now?" "No, but this is quite odd since you never tell me this in the beginning of our conversations."
"And now, you have ruined it. But seriously, is something wrong or why are you calling me on a Monday night when you have work tomorrow at seven in the morning?" "Oh, I was just wondering what you are doing and decided to call you. I should do that as a responsible brother, you know."
She lifted her eyebrow. There was no way that this is true. "Is it because Shoyo left you alone at home and you're trying to get some information out of me", she asked rhetorically. He sighed. "Yes. Can you tell me something?"
Suzumi looked at his boyfriend. Hinata Shoyo looked happy, truly. Indeed, he was the only one, except their captains and oddly enough Bokuto, who was enjoying himself. "Tobio, the only thing that I will tell you is that he is happy. You should try that, too. Hang out with your friends. I'm sure they'd love to see you since you don't have much space open for fun."
Her brother sighed again. "Yes, I've already thought of that. It's just—I can't get him out of my mind. Whenever I'm free all of my thoughts are dedicated to him. It's annoying but I can't do anything against it." She slightly scoffed at that. "Of course you can't", she replied sarcastically.
"Suzumi", he warned. "What? It's only the truth, Tobio. Relax a bit, you can clearly tell that this man has only eyes for you. He brings you up like every other minute. It's quite annoying considering that my boyfriend of years doesn't talk about me like he talks about you."
It was still on the other side of the phone. "Suzumi, is everything okay?" "Yes, why would you ask?"
"Oh, maybe because he seemed to be your everything, after your job and family of course, and I don't hear anything from him now." He seemed genuinely concerned for her. "Ok, we aren't here to talk about my boyfriend. Bye, Otouto. See you soon!"
"No! Don't hang up on me! I wanted to ask if you saw the nomination for the national team." She rolled her eyes. "Yes, Tobio, I've already seen it. You don't need to tell me. I'm even surprised that you ask me this and not me."
"But, Suzumi—" "Bye, Tobio. Sleep well."
After this conversation, she got back together with Yumi and time went by, surprising them both.
