Chris was thinking he had cornered himself.
He was winded and was braced against the trunk of an old oak, feeling very much like he was, in fact, being hunted, was almost adrenalized with a frantic type of anxiety and fluttery nerves, and knew, that part of him most definitely wanted to be caught.
The other part was just sort of intent on making them crazy for tormenting him so badly all the goddamn time. He promised himself that if he gave them the slip, he wouldn't break and would go straight to the safety of his room and stay there stubbornly and without any kind of fucks given. A better-luck-next-round type of thing.
He pulled away from the wood and heard a rustle almost next to him, and was hyped enough that it made him scream like a little girl. A bird exploded from the bushes, and he cursed it straight to hell and took off, knew he had just outed himself with that, and went for the left door that led up into the hall.
It was far, and he was by the center pond which meant he was almost a half acre from that door.
It was one of those moments where he kind of knew that that one sound had just screwed his luck, felt it in his bones even. The moment he went to go around the pond, was the moment Drew stepped out, closer than he wasn't and he just pointed at him with a bright smile.
Chris put up his hands and backed up. "Do not!"
"I'm not doing anything." Drew said it and spread his arms, looked up and his grin was just sinister when he looked back at him. "Just enjoying the solitude of the night."
Chris glanced up and then pointed to the area behind him, Drew glanced and Chris bolted back the way he had come, spilled over a bench, and went wide, with the full intention of putting that pond squarely between them, breathless, heart damn near in his throat, and this was quickly becoming almost terrifying.
It really was something else; wildly intoxicating in that way that a rollercoaster was so exciting, like he was strapped in and there was no stopping the moments of high-speed, upside-down momentum.
He got a foot on the path, saw Drew was faster than he was, and turned to go back the other way, and almost ran into a damn tree, ducked a limb, and danced his ass into that thick stand of vegetation. Drew was close and just called out, "This is, the most fun I've had in a long time!" It was very apt from him indeed, and Chris sucked down a nervous laugh and made a break for another close tree. Now, it was just a game of quiet cat and mouse, and it was scary, in a terrific way, and the next chance he got to peek, he couldn't see Drew anymore, and that screwed with him immediately.
He had no idea where Darren was and knew he was most assuredly around, probably close, and it made him so paranoid his imagination was going wild.
This was, by far, the most intense moment for himself personally he had ever put himself directly into, and it was pure real enjoyment only. Just made him half hard, played on every kind of kink he had, and was literally sweating, he was so high with it.
This felt like a game of chess, and what had Darren said? No one had beaten him since he had been eleven?
He looked around, even looked up, and made a break for another tree, expecting someone to step out in front of him, and began to wind instead for the right door. It was getting close, excitingly so, and there was nothing between him and it but an open short stretch of grass, a path, and no one else in sight.
He made a break for it, very certain he was going to make it, did, and went for the handle and found it was very, very locked.
That was about the moment he assumed he had been outsmarted and outmaneuvered, left him wide open, and when he whipped back there was still no one there, which made him feel like someone was. He cursed and realized he was actually shaking. Holy fuck.
