CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
❛ weekend getaway gone wrong ❜ON THE MORNING were supposed to head back to UA, a rain-storm took the island of Ishigaki by surprise. Due to the storm, the ferry you were scheduled to board was cancelled. The final ferry that would be available was in the next thirty minutes, and if you all missed that ferry, you wouldn't be able to head back until tomorrow. Currently, your classmates were scrambling to pack their belongings.
"Pack quickly, everyone!" Iida announced. "We must leave immediately if we want to make it to the last ferry." You waited beside him, watching as the rest of the crew gathered their things. Sighing, you wished you and your class had more time to enjoy the mini-vacation. Now, it was back to the 'hero-life'.
When everyone was packed, you trudged your way through the storm, regretting your decision to choose Ishigaki as your destination. Unfortunately the buses weren't running at this time, making it a struggle to reach the dock while avoiding the rain.
"I can't believe this, my hair is completely ruined!" Yaoyorozu held her bag above her head, attempting to shield her hair as best as she could. You felt bad, remembering how long it took for her to straighten her hair last night.
"It's cold, how did the weather change so fast?!" Hagakure cried as she held herself for warmth.
"I'm completely soaked!" Kirishima yelled over the pounding of the rain. His usual gel-spiked hair was stuck to his face, making it harder for him to see.
After a few minutes, the fifteen of you finally reached the dock. As you came to a halt, you had a terrible realization; the bag you held wasn't your own. You happened to own the exact same bag as Denki, and when you peeked inside, you realized it held all of his belongings. He must've had yours then, right?! Denki turned toward you, letting out a sigh of relief.
"Ah, thanks (L/n)." He said, taking back his bag. "I forgot about it. You're a lifesaver, dude!" You froze, not believing what you had just heard. There was no way you were getting on that ferry without your belongings— absolutely no way. Besides, the necklace that Bakugo gave you was in your bag, and you didn't want to lose it.
"I'll take the ferry tomorrow, guys!" You yelled, running back the way you came. "I'm sorry, go on without me!" Iida turned, calling out for you as he chopped his hand angrily.
"Come back, we have to stick together!" You ignored him, running through puddles that entirely soaked your shoes. You'd have to book a hotel room and wait out the rain until tomorrow rolled around. Hopefully, you'd be able to catch the earliest ferry and make it back to school on time.
