"Good morning, mommy's handsome boy!" Chrisean smiled at her son as she picked him up out of bed, sitting on the rocking chair by his bookshelf, grabbing 3 books.

Since he was one now and needed to learn his different skills, she started with speech and reading, so every morning she gave him a choice of 3 books for them to read together; short, picture books of course (usually Dr. Seuss).

"Which book do you wanna read today, Prince?"

His choices were Green Eggs and Ham, How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight, or No, David!

He chose How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight, which had been his favorite book to choose if it was in the rotation.

She nodded; putting the other books away and beginning to read with him.

"How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight? By Jane Yolen, illustrated by Mark Teague."

From then on, she began reading.

The book didn't take long at all to read but Prince wasn't a morning person so Chrisean let him stay in bed for a little until breakfast was ready.

She was making breakfast burritos, stuffed with eggs, bacon, and cheese, since her son didn't like sausages, she just left that for herself and Von.

She grabbed his Spider-Man cup, pouring apple juice into it. Once everything was done, she sat it inside his playpen, turning on Caillou, which the one-year-old had oddly enough been very into lately, then going to get him from his room.

"Come on, honey, it's time to eat." She shook him awake, his big brown eyes shooting open to meet hers.

It never ceased to make her heart clench seeing his pretty, doe eyes stare into hers.

She picked him up out of the bed, pressing kisses on his forehead and cheeks, bringing him downstairs to the living room, sitting him inside his playpen, letting him eat.

Now it was time to start on her and her husband's breakfast, also breakfast burritos but with sausage instead of bacon.

"Where are you going this early in the morning, Dayvon?"

"The studio, you already know this shit, Chrisean."

"Why?! What is at the studio for you?! Why can't you just write and record here? There is a whole other room in the basement that you can turn into a home studio!"

"I'm not doing this shit witcho crazy ass today, Chrisean. Thank you for the breakfast, ma, I love you. I'm out." He kissed her lips quickly, putting on his shoots, going down the steps.

"Dayvon, you better not fucking leave!" She yelled as he opened the door.

He looked back at her, shaking his head, "I'a be back, ma."

"DAY-"

She was cut off by the sound of the door shutting and as a shut, a piece of her heart broke and she started to cry.

She sat there, crying on the steps, the feeling of an empty home breaking her into pieces.

She then heard her son crying, immediately wiping her tears, straightening up her face, going to get him from his play pen.

"Hey papa! What's the matter wit mommy baby? Hmm?" She laughed, tickling his armpits and tummy, making him laugh along with her.

"That's what I thought, you not sad, you just wanted some attention huh?" She rubbed her nose on his.

She started feeling a little sad knowing that she was just like her son, all she wanted was some love, affection and attention or she would be cranky, but unlike herself, her husband couldn't or didn't want to provide that for her.

"Yknow what, we're gonna have a mommy and son date. Your little sisters will come along with us cause they don't have a choice." She laughed, taking him up the stairs to get him ready.
