One year later
After ten months of dating Louis and Harry are still going strong, so when Harry asked Louis to move in with him, he didn't hesitate to say yes. He was so in love with Harry, and he was certain Harry loved him too, so why not take this step?
They both found jobs after college so paying the rent would not be an issue, Harry had a very nice pay check, if Louis would lose his job they would still be able to pay for the rent. Of course Louis would not live of Harry's money so he insisted he at least pay Harry for half of the rent. Harry being the stubborn man he is, of course refused for Louis to pay rent. Louis always made dinner and bought the groceries, so for Harry that was enough.
Louis decided that if he wasn't to pay rent he put that money on a savings account, you could never know when that money would come in handy.
Louis and Harry fall in a nice pattern of work and leisure. Living together is the best step Louis made. He doesn't have to worry about Harry, where he is or what he does, because he will cuddle him every night on the couch before they go to bed. They always watch TV together and talk about everything and nothing, Louis loves it. Sometimes they go out to dinner and at least once a week they go out on a date together.
Louis and Harry are eating dinner and talk about their day. " I finally finished that terrible rapport on the safety measures of that new building." Harry says. "What rapport, Harry? I can't remember you talking about that." "Yes I did, but I guess you didn't listen." Harry says. "I always listen when you tell me something, I guess I forgot you told me."
Harry was really busy at work, he has a deadline for the rapports and his boss is stressing him to finish the rapports. Louis knows what it is when you're your boss is stressing you out. He also works with deadlines and it can be really stressful. The times they go out on a date is not every week anymore. Louis is a little bummed about it, but he doesn't want to stress Harry any further with his own insecurities. Because Louis is scared he is losing Harry, just because their nice pattern is just not a nice pattern anymore. Harry has to work late most of the days, and when he comes home he is stressed out, and not really there with his mind.
He doesn't need to worry, is what he keeps telling himself, Harry still tries to make it home in time, and always calls when he has to work late. He never leaves Louis waiting with dinner if he knows he won't make it in time to eat.
"Well my boss finally fired Josh." Harry tells Louis when they finally are eating a meal together again for the first time in two weeks. Louis looks at Harry, he has no clue what Harry is talking about. "I don't know what you are talking about, who is Josh?" Louis asks. "Do you ever listen when I tell you something?" Harry huffs. "I told you last week, and before that, Josh is the guys that keeps screwing up the rapports." "Apparently he stole some ideas and try to sell them to another company." Louis still can't remember if Harry ever told him that. Harry looks convinced he did. Did Louis really forgot what Harry told him. He always tries to remember what Harry tells him about work.
Finally after three weeks the deadline is there and they slowly fall back in their nice pattern. Louis couldn't be any happier. They go out again and have dinner together every night at home.
But it annoys Louis that Harry seems glued to his phone. At the start when they moved in together they set the deal that when they eat or talk, there are no phones allowed. Harry tells Louis it is just his mom and sister he messages with a lot at the moment. They don't live close by, and Louis knows Anne, Harry's mother, has had a tough time when she lost her partner. She found a great support in Harry and Gemma, Harry's sister, and it seems to keep her going on. So Louis doesn't want to be the bad man in this, to say Harry can't have his phone with him. And it seems Harry is very happy to be talking with his mom and sister, because he is always smiling when he sends and receives messages from them.
