I really learned a lot, really learned a lot
Harry is trying to restore Louis' trust. They have to bounce back and work together on a new connection, no matter how difficult it may be. Their relationship may even come out of the crisis stronger. And Harry is willing to give his all to have Louis trust him again.
First of all Louis and Harry have consciously re-chosen their relationship. And with that also for working together on trust. Both of them have taken the time to look inside and really ask themselves "Do I still want the relationship?" Both can answer that question positive. Louis loves Harry a lot and that is a good thing for Harry.
Secondly, the shock of cheating has been sufficiently processed. Louis has supported Harry by not running away but by being there for him when he was struggling. There is also openness and honesty, at least from Louis' side. Harry has to give Louis time to heal by being honest. This is how trust can grow. For Louis trust is that you start from the good intentions of others. That you count on others to do what they say. He has positive expectations and assumes that the Harry is doing the right thing. He can also have confidence in a good outcome. He trusts that everything will be fine. That has not so much to do with trust in others, but more in the whole situation. Louis has experienced that your trust can be betrayed. That he was lied to, that he was not supported at times when he needed it. It is inevitable that he will sometimes be disappointed in relationships. However, that is no reason to close his heart and isolate himself. He loves harry, and he wants to make this relationship work.
For Harry the trust of others starts with trusting himself. When he is kind to himself, he needs less recognition from others. Taking good care of himself and treating himself lovingly not only increases his self-confidence he can do this, but it also deepens his connection with Louis. Self-confidence gives him confidence that he can handle the things that come his way, and can resist it. It gives him a sense of security. He know that when he makes mistakes, he is not going to sit back and relax. He is just going to try again. From that trust in himself, he can more easily enter into a loving connection with Louis.
So with that in mind they stay together and try to work through their difficulties and insecurities. It really involves a lot of talking and also fighting. It is really hard on both of them, but they both know they can't live without each other and try to do anything to make their relationship work.
Harry tells Louis everything and Louis listens to him and tries not to make snarky comments on how easy it would be for Harry to still be cheating on him, because that is what he has done almost a the time in their relationship, and he has been so gullible. But he doesn't do it. He knows Harry tries, and he feels Harry is really trying to do the right thing.
So when Harry tells Louis he is going to the club with his friends, Louis feels like he is going to have a panic attack. Louis doesn't want to be that guy who tells his partner he can not go out with his friends, so he puts his negative thought aside, and tells Harry to have fun, but don't drink to much and come home really late. He thinks he is overdoing it with the last comments but Harry seems to understand, and assures Louis he is only going with his friends because they have missed him and has been a long time since they went out together. Harry even asks Louis if he would like to tag along to the club. But Louis declines that offer. Harry has his own friends and he needs that, Louis is not going to intrude in that. So Louis kisses him goodbye and wishes him a nice night in the club.
Louis decides to watch a movie on Netflix. So he scrolls to the movies and settles for a nice romcom. But he can't focus on the movie and his mind keeps wandering to Harry. What is he doing, will he behave, or will he go back to his old tricks. Louis finds it hard to trust, but to be in a loving relationship with Harry he has to start trusting him again.
Louis puts on another movie, but he still isn't watching the movie. He grabs his phone and goes to Instagram. He feels like he shouldn't do it, he needs to trust Harry, but he can't help it, there is this voice in his head that keeps nagging and whining he can't trust Harry. So when he opens Harry's Instagram page he sees that Harry is tagged in a lot of photo's. The photos are all taken in the club where Harry said that they would be going. So this is a good booster in Louis' trust in Harry.
Suddenly Louis feels scared to look at the pictures because he wants to trust Harry and he is afraid he might see things in the pictures he doesn't want to see, so he throws his phone to the other side of the couch. After a few minutes he crawls to his phone and decides he is just going to take a look, the pictures are public, so anybody can see them, including Louis. He opens his phone and looks at the pictures. All he sees are pictures of Harry with his friends, no others men or women. This feels like such a relieve to Louis.
At two am he hears the key in the lock, and he waits for Harry to take of his shoes and come in to the living room. Harry is surprised to see Louis awake on the couch. He walks over to Louis and gives him a kiss. Louis can't help but wrap his arms around Harry and bury his face in his neck. Not only because he is happy Harry is home, but to sniff him, and try to smell if he can smell perfume from somebody else on his man. All Louis can smell is Harry, and this makes Louis smile. "Let's go to the bedroom." Louis says. He holds Harry hand and pulls him in the bedroom. Louis was already in his pyjamas and is crawling under the blankets. He keeps the lights on and a gaze on Harry. He loves to watch Harry change, so he can admire his body. But it is also a scan to see if he can spot any hickeys on Harry's body. He feels so happy when he doesn't spot any on Harry body. This is a great start of gaining trust. Louis feels he can take over the world, and feels confident. When Harry turns of the light and slides under the blanket, Louis' head disappears under the blanket, and he gives Harry his reward for earning Louis' trust.
