SHATTERED REFLECTION
The days following the storm were filled with an uneasy calm, like the deceptive stillness after a hurricane. Vedant and Aarohi avoided each other as much as possible, both unwilling to confront the whirlwind of emotions their passionate encounter had unleashed. Yet, the memory of that day lingered, a ghost that haunted their thoughts.
Inside the Kashish estate, a sense of dread hung in the air. Everyone could feel it—the tension between Vedant and Aarohi, the uncertainty that loomed like a dark cloud. Even the staff whispered among themselves, sensing the storm that was sure to come.
But it wasn't just the mansion that was on edge. Across the city, plans were being made, alliances forged, and hearts steeled for the battles to come.
At the Rajvansh Office
Vedant was working on some files, but something seemed to bother him, he couldn't focus at all. He called the secretary asking him to send a strong black coffee to his cabin.
When the office door banged open, it was none other than Vedant's best friend, Shaurya Agnihotri
"Kya hain, Insaan o ki darwaja nahi khol satta?"
"Hay Bhagwan, mere iss dost ko kabhi mera khayal kyu nahi hota?"
"Media house run karte karte, khud bhi nautankibaaz ho gaya hain saale"
"Nautankibaaz hi saahi, par tere tahra unromantic robot to nahi hoon? Bechari Bhabhi, kya footi hua kismat hain unki?"
As soon as Shaurya said that, the rain day incident flashed in front the eyes of Vedant, he could feel his body becoming warm and his south pole harden inside his pants. Clearing his throat, Vedant replied
"Woh shadi nahi, dhoka hain, aur mein use apna biwi nahi manta. Aur ainda aise faltu ka bakwas mere samne nahi karna warna tera yaha ana ban kardunga"
"Hayyy, kya sun raha hoon main, yeh sunne sey pehle main mar kyun nahi gaya?"
Giving an annoying face to Shaurya, Ved asked "Tera London wala project itna jaldi kaise khatam ho gaya?"
Shaurya leaned against the desk, folding his arms. "Tujhe patahi hain mein kitna smart hoon, mein gaya waha aur jaldi jaldi meetings khatam kiya aur chala aya"
Giving a mocking smirk, Ved asked, "Pata hain kitna smart hain tu, is liye tera PA, wahape tere pouchney se 1 hafte sey pehlei chala gaya tha"
Making a face, Shaurya asked, "Is baar bhi tujhe pata chal gaya. Kon bata ta hain tujhe mere paal paal ke khabar? Yaar yeh Rajvansh Siblings itna azeeb kyun hain? Ek mera nalayak dost, jo hamesha kam kam kam karta hain, aur dusra uska behen, kabhi mujpar bhi dhayan dehi de"
"Saale, aaram sey behen hain meri"
"Saale? tum mujhe jijaji bola karo samjhe Ved babu, saale toh tum mere ho"
"Aise daydreaming sey behtar kuch kam hi karle, aur jaha baat Vedika ki hain, iss janam mein to woh tujhe ghaas nahi dalne wala hain, try again in the next janam"
Sealing his lips in a thin line, Shaurya said, "Kuch acha nahi bola jata to apna mu math khola kar, waise how's your life? Chaotic?"
Vedant's lips twitched into a humourless smile. "Chaos seems to follow me, whether I invite it or not."
Shaurya raised an eyebrow. "You want to tell me what's going on? Suna hain tu barahi gabbar ban raha hain about... Aarohi."
Vedant's expression darkened at the mention of her name. "There's nothing to tell. It was a mistake. One that I intend to rectify."
