Chapter: Fires of Provocation
The evening was thick with tension as Vedant paced his study, thoughts of betrayal and revenge clashing in his mind. Aarohi’s fiery defiance from earlier in the day still haunted him, adding fuel to his frustration. Just then, the door to his study creaked open, and Aarohi stood in the doorway, her gaze challenging.
Vedant:
"You again? Haven’t you said enough for one day?"Aarohi stepped inside, ignoring his cold tone, her arms crossed as she walked toward him with deliberate, confident steps.
Aarohi:
"I have a few more things to say, actually. You seem to think I’m just a pawn in this game, someone you can control. But maybe you need to remember that I’m more than capable of handling myself."Vedant scoffed, his lips curling into a smirk.
Vedant:
"Handling yourself? By getting tangled up with people who are out to destroy you? How smart of you, Aarohi."Aarohi’s eyes flashed with anger, but she didn’t back down.
Aarohi:
"Maybe I wouldn’t be in this mess if it weren’t for you, Vedant. You dragged me into your twisted world and now expect me to sit back and stay silent?"Vedant took a step closer, his eyes narrowing as he looked down at her.
Vedant:
"Dragged you? You were more than eager to play this game, Aarohi. Don’t act innocent."Aarohi’s breath hitched, but she lifted her chin defiantly, refusing to let him intimidate her.
Aarohi:
"You think you know me, Vedant? Do you think I’m just some damsel you can control? Maybe you don’t know me at all."Vedant’s frustration boiled over, and in one swift movement, he closed the distance between them, his hand gripping her waist as he pulled her close. Aarohi’s eyes widened, her heart pounding, but she didn’t look away.
Vedant:
"Oh, I know exactly what kind of woman you are. You love playing with fire, don’t you?"Aarohi’s lips curved into a smirk, her defiance matching his intensity.
Aarohi:
"Maybe I’m not the only one who enjoys the heat."Vedant’s jaw tightened, but his hold on her only grew stronger. Their faces were inches apart, breaths mingling as the tension between them reached a breaking point. Aarohi’s words, her audacity, her sheer defiance—it all set something ablaze within him that he could no longer contain.
In a swift, possessive move, Vedant’s lips crashed against hers, capturing her in a kiss that was as much a battle as it was an expression of everything they couldn’t say. Aarohi responded with equal intensity, her fingers threading through his hair as she pulled him closer, refusing to let him dominate entirely.
They moved together, caught in the whirlwind of desire and anger, every touch igniting a spark that threatened to consume them both. Vedant’s hands roamed over her back, his grip firm yet tender as he pressed her against him, deepening the kiss. Aarohi matched his fire, her hands trailing over his shoulders as she surrendered to the passion between them.
Finally, they broke apart, both breathing heavily, their eyes locked in a gaze that was both challenging and vulnerable.
Aarohi:
"Still think you know me, Vedant?"Vedant chuckled, a low, rough sound as he brushed a strand of hair from her face, his fingers lingering against her skin.
Vedant:
"No. But I’m starting to realize I might not mind finding out."Aarohi’s defiance softened for a brief moment, and she reached up, brushing her lips against his in a lingering, tender kiss that held a silent promise—a truce, if only for tonight They stood there in the dimly lit study, wrapped in each other’s arms, both unwilling to let go of the one thing they hadn’t expected to find in each other.
But as dawn approached, and the world outside Kashish Estate prepared for a new day, they both knew that the fire between them was far from extinguished.
