The next two weeks were intense to say the least. Draco seemed to disappear more and more, Adeline knew he was busy trying to fix that cabinet, letting in Death Eaters. At the same time, she avoided Severus Snape like the plague, even skipping his classes and his only. She always found an excuse, stating that she felt unwell or had not finished her homework. But once Adeline skipped his special lesson, he came looking for her.

Adeline sat at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall, absently pushing her food around her plate. The chatter of students filled the air, the clinking of cutlery and the occasional burst of laughter echoing off the stone walls. Her gaze drifted toward the professors' table, where she caught Severus Snape staring at her. His dark eyes were mad with anger, and the intensity of his gaze made her stomach flip. Quickly, she averted her eyes, focusing instead on the conversation between Blaise Zabini and Theodore Nott, who were discussing Quidditch.

"I'm telling you, Ravenclaw's got no chance against Hufflepuff this time," Theo said, leaning forward, his eyes alight with excitement. "Their new Seeker is unstoppable."

Blaise smirked. "I don't know, Hufflepuff's defense is strong, but their Chasers are weak. If Ravenclaw can keep the Quaffle in their possession, they might just pull it off." Adeline tried to immerse herself in the conversation, nodding along as she listened. She found comfort in the familiar banter, the way the boys spoke so passionately about the sport.

'I never cared much for Quidditch scenes in the Harry Potter books, but listening to them speak so passionately is kind of fun,' she thought.

Blaise turned to her, his expression softening. "How's your arm, Adeline? I heard about what happened in Potions." Adeline looked up, giving him a small smile. "It's fine now, all healed."

Blaise nodded, continuing, "Sue Li's facing detention for what she did. She's also been removed from all her special extra classes—Potions, Charms, even Transfiguration. Snape made sure of that."

Adeline sighed, her fingers tracing the edge of her goblet. "I don't care as long as she doesn't try to approach me again."

The conversation drifted to other topics, but Adeline found herself disengaged. She finished her meal quickly, eager to escape the overwhelming presence of Snape's gaze. Standing up, she excused herself and made her way out of the Great Hall. But as she opened the door, she glanced back and saw Snape rising from his seat, his dark robes billowing as he made his way out too. Her heart leaped into her throat—he was coming after her. Without thinking, Adeline broke into a run, her footsteps echoing through the empty corridors as she raced up the grand staircase, taking the steps two at a time. She didn't stop even when she reached the seventh floor. Her breath coming in short gasps, she saw the familiar door of the Room of Requirement appear. Grateful for the escape, she slipped inside, and the door disappeared behind her.

'Wow,' she tried to catch her breath. 'Never thought I'd be able to return here...'

Inside, the room was vastly different from the last time she had been here. It was large and dusty, filled with towering stacks of old boxes, books, paintings, and forgotten antiques. The air was thick with the scent of aged wood and parchment, and a faint layer of dust coated everything. Adeline wandered through the room, her fingers brushing against the remnants of long-forgotten belongings, feeling the weight of history in every corner.

As she turned a corner, she was suddenly tackled to the ground, a forceful grip pinning her down. Her heart raced as she struggled beneath the weight, but when her eyes locked with her attacker's, she froze.

"Draco?" she gasped, stunned to see him here. His silver eyes were wide with surprise, his expression mirroring her own.

"What are you doing here?" Draco demanded, his voice low and harsh as he quickly released her, helping her to her feet. Adeline straightened her robes, brushing off the dust. "I was hiding... from Snape."
