Memory

It was a cold day outside of the Ootori mansion where a fragile girl no bigger than 4, stepped outside barefoot into the snow, laughing and looking around at the falling flecks of magic which were slowly drifting to the ground. Beside her stood a black haired boy with steel grey eyes and a navy blue coat who laughed alongside her, both of them falling down into the soft, white snow. It wasn't much, but it was magical. Everyone watching them new that it was magical, how two people so different can compliment each other so well.

'We will be best friends forever right, Kyoya?' The small girl asked

'Forever' he confirmed

The two children had grown quite fond of each other as days, weeks, months and years passed, Amaya being weird, spontaneous and creative; and Kyoya being smart, focused and serious. They were a pair, a team and everyone knew it. Kyoya was one of the only people that Amaya opened up to and little did she know, Kyoya felt the exact same way about her.

7 years later
Kyoya watched the plane leave into the bright blue sky, taking his best and only friend with it. He didn't know who he was without Amaya, who was he kidding? He was no one without her.

If he didn't know that she was coming back in 4 years then he wouldn't even be able to watch her go. If he didn't now that she was coming back in 5 years then he would have jumped right on the plane with her and flown away together. It was hard to restrain himself from doing that anyway.

Present day (Amayas POV)

Stepping out of the bagging area and letting my blue starfish printed suitcase trail behind me. Excitement couldn't even half-express the emotions swirling through me as I breathed in the air of the country I once lived in. Maybe a part of me wishes that my parents had come too, though I rarely saw them I wish that we could live together and be a family together like we used to be. All of that seems to be a distant memory now though, so here I am, alone and feeling like any more happiness would make me float off of the face of the Earth. Ok maybe that's a bad thing. Probably not.

I'm Amaya LeBlanc and I lived in Japan until I was 11 when my family dragged me over to England, but who cares about that? I'm finally back! I wonder what my new house will look like, do the Ootoris still live in the same house that they used to, or will they have moved? I wonder if they remember me... I hope so, after all I am marrying their son..

"Amaya!" A happy voice called out from behind of me as I spun around, resulting in falling over and skidding slightly on the floor and making my long dark brown hair collide with what I hope was not gum

"I meant to do that" I announced to everyone who just saw that earning a loud laugh from some elderly lady.
Moving my blue eyes up from the polished floor I saw a face that I remembered so well, one that I could draw solely from memory and get every inch of it accurate...

"Kyoya?!"

"Who else would it be?" The voice replied

"Oh my gosh just look at you my child, so tall, so confident... how you've grown." The brunette mocked

"Not this again" he sighed "I see four years in England hasn't changed you at all" Kyoya spoke, looking at the girl and finding all of the pieces of her that he recalled so fondly

"Try escaping me now. I'm finally back with my best friend and I'm not going anywhere" Amaya said before throwing him into a hug and getting a half hug in return.

"You can do better than THAT!" The girl spoke, forcing her friend to tighten his hold on her "I KNEW YOU MISSED ME~"

"I never said that, and please be quieter, people are staring"

"No theyre not! Apart from him... oh and him...and her..."

----
"Wheres Mr. Ootori?" Amaya asked, slightly relieved that he wasn't here. She always found his family to be mildly intimidating to say the least. She knew she could speak to and truly be friends with Kyoya, but with the other family members, she felt as though all interactions they held were purely business. She supposed they were, really.

"He is on an important business trip with my brothers, they will be arriving on Friday. I'm sure they will be excited to see you" He answered.

Why does he always sound so monotone?

At the Ootoris

Everything was the same. The same white painted walls and duck egg blue curtains reaching the floor, hiding the sun from the large windows, shiny tiled flooring and fancy crystal chandeliers that make the sun reflect shapes in the daytime. The same slightly suffocating feeling and stillness that flooded the air as soon as you walk in, which Amaya wondered if only she could feel, or whether her fiance-to-be felt it too.

If all of this is the same after 5 years, I hope that Kyoya is as well.

'Wow you could fit a really tall Christmas tree in this bad boy' The girl said, looking at the high ceilings

'Knowing you, you would.. and you would bring squirrels to "tame" again' Kyoya replied, knowingly looking at her.

'Nono ive learned my lesson I will NOT be doing that again... I still miss Desmond..'

'That's why you don't try to foster wild, and possibly rabid squirrels and why you don't keep them in trees.'

"Hey, you were an accomplice in that crime! All Desmond wanted was a friend! A friend, Kyoya and you went and made enemies with him!"

"I did no such thing"

"I wonder if he remembers me... Maybe I should go and look for him again" Amaya whispered to herself

"What was that?" Kyoya asked, attempting to hide his endearment towards the girl and her peculiarities

"Nothing"

"Alright.... Anyway your bedrooms upstairs, Ill escort you there" The boy responded, walking up the stairs, waiting for his friend to follow him down the many turns and hallways of the large house.

***
Amayas POV
My bedroom is massive. I didn't even know rooms like this existed, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a walk-in ice cream parlour and a theme park hiding behind one of those doors. The walls were tall and white and the room is circular (looks nice but slightly inconvenient, how do I get a desk to line up with the walls when theyre circular?) with wooden flooring covering it all. A fluffy white carpet covers the middle and theres a massive massive four-poster bed with heavy pink quilts laid with pillows. On the other side of the room is a massive window which im very excited to decorate with multiple succulents... hopefully I wont kill these ones... and next to my bed was a door leading to a walk-in closet and bathroom.

Other than that, the room was bare apart from the thing laying on my bed. Ouran uniform. It wasn't as bad as what was meant to be my uniform, a yellow dress with extremely large sleeves and small red ribbon. Don't get me wrong, yellow is my all time favourite color but it looked a bit odd considering the boys uniform is blue, instead it was the boys uniform which I had paired with a skirt. 1 more day until I start at a whole new school. Good thing I came here on a Saturday and not a Monday because I really don't think that I can handle a new school on my second day.
