Running footsteps stepped through the brick floor to get to their destination. Hands are grasped together to not lose one another. Men and women gasp in surprise, spotting two children running past them, like little mischiefs. Asha's laughs were like bells, and Earendel's grin was wide.
"Come on, come on! This way, Dahlia's bakery is this way!"
Asha's beams with her excitement, her hand grip was firm she held onto Earendel behind her. She could feel it inside her veins her best friends bakery was so close.
Princess Asha couldn't wait another day to get her hands on Dahlia's new sweets. Delicious raspberry and strawberry tarts. Blackberry scones and peach funnel cake. She could order the whole menu if there was a party in her kingdom today.
Earendel lifted his finger to his grin.
"Shh! Don't let people notice your voice!" He shushed to protect her still, as he chuckles slightly, that part of him is also excited about the sweets himself. The two could smell the aroma slightly wafting their noses, and it gets sweeter and warmer the more they get closer. Their eyes shined when they saw the wooden sign hanging above a pole.A fresh baked pie was placed on display by red colored mittens. The young baker took off her glass and wiped away the fog with her apron, then placed them back to her eyes.
"Dahlia!" The familiar voice made her heart warm once she pushed her glass with her finger. It was clear as day. Asha waved her arm up in the air.
"Asha, Earendel!" Dahlia grins widely she waves back to them. She then motions them to come closer to take a view of what she baked today.
"What's today special, Dahlia?" Questions Asha, the answer was already in front. Dahlia presents it. The deliciousness of the pie sooths the Princess and the guard, breathing in the heavely scent.
"Cherry pie?... Mixed with lemons?" Earendel says delicately.
"With a drizzle of honey on top." Adds Dahlia, a dinging sound was heard behind the rejester. Dahlia snaps her head and then turns back. "Be right back!" She tells them they see the young baker girl go. They exchange glances, and both shrug their shoulders. Until a second later, Dahlia had returned, amazed Asha and Earendel before their eyes, they were red filled tarts, having a wave of fragrance of strawberry. Asha and Earendel embraced the lovely smell with their noses like breathing in fresh air. Asha exhales softly.
"Strawberry tarts?" Guesses Earendel, Dahlia nods.
"Correct, now help yourselves." The baker girl says kindly, presenting the tarts prepared to be taken and eaten. "You two are my new taste testers." She grins, Earendel and Asha looked at one another. Earendel's soft smile and Asha's excited grin. The guard tilts his head to the tray.
"Ladies first." He tells her. Asha giggled she gladly lifted her hand to take one.
"Careful, it's a little hot-" Dahlia warned, Asha's fingers already made contact with the steaming crust. Her hand flinched back,
"Ooo! Hot, hot!" Asha shakes her hand frantically, Earendel then sparked out a fabric napkin from his fingers. Dahlia then sees him use the napkin and take the one out. Asha touched.
"Be careful." Earendel says beside her, Asha looks at him, holding the tart against his lips. Earendel blows against the tart softly golden sparkles dusted it against it softly, shrinking the heat off. After he made sure it was a perfect temperature, Earendel's soft eyes glanced at the Princess and handed the treat back to her. The princess looked up to him and giggled happily.
