Rain splattered on the brick floors. The light purple colored, pumpkin shaped carriage, with their raven and pearl colored horses. Their hooves clapped the ground, and the rider drove Princess Asha back to her castle.
"Watch your step." The guard Earendel helps Princess Asha down with the warmth of her hand as he holds an umbrella with his other hand.
Earendel closes the carriage door and then watches it go. They then face back to the kingdom.
"Out of all these days, it had to rain at Bezeema's birthday." Asha then spoke, standing beside Earendel. The two young teenagers walk side by side, entering back to the castle.
"No worries, Princess." Reassures Earendel with a small smile on his face his star freckles glowed through his nose and cheeks. "Princess Beezama's thirteenth birthday was amazing, and it didn't rain before when we got there. And didn't you have fun?" He then cocks an eyebrow at Asha.
She beams, "Of course I had!" Then places her hands on her hips, her eyes gleamed by the memory of the ceremony. "Especially the music, and even the dancing!" The Princess twirls with her ballgown flowing, Earendel had to keep the umbrella above her head. Princess Asha giggles, "Woah!" Her shoe slipped on a puddle.
"Careful!" Panicks Earendel his hand snatched hers and pulled Asha back up. A short, quiet gasp coming out from both, their faces suddenly meeting with their noses touching.
A light crimson colored heat forms in Asha's cheeks and the glow of Earendel's freckles. They stared for a single moment, Princess Asha gave Earendel a grin, then chuckled awkwardly. Earendel exchanges his chuckle with her, then takes a single step back, still holding her hand.
"You... shouldn't dance in the rain, Princess." He eventually chooses to pull her closer, hearing the rain drops hitting the umbrella. "Especially when you can't leave the umbrella." He adds, the rain gets less harsher, and slowly it stopped, a spark of curiosity ignited in both of them as the two then stare up at the night sky. The skies were clearing up. Spotting the light of the moon and the twinkling of the stars. They were both drawn.
Earendel's eyes left the sky after he noticed a beauty that was already underneath the moonlight and stars. His eyes then gazed at her, Princess Asha, seeing her smile widen, and she pins a lock of her braids to her ear. The star freckles began to glow again before he told himself mentally immediately:"Snap out of it!"
He shakes his head to focus on the task of hand, but how could he, now when she spoke to him:
"They're so beautiful... Aren't they?" Asha slowly turns to him. Earendel was too late to turn away. Their eyes had locked.
"Yeah... They're truly are." He says with a smile that formed on his lips slowly.
The guard then reaches his hand to hold the Princess's once more, the warmth of the back of her hand around his fingers and their palms touching. Princess Asha stared at their hands and then raised her head to look up at him, meeting his eyes that glowed gold through the night, and his star freckles. "Let me escort you inside now, shall we?" He asks in a whisper, which the Princess immediately agrees.
"Of course." She tells them. As they held hand in hand, walking back inside the castle.Word Count:
