Maria's POV

I feel like since tristan left, I'm struggling with most things like i've been doing them on my own, in few months, I'll finally be a senior and graduate and hopefully get into college and i still don't know what i want to become. Am i a human at all cause most kids my age already figured what they want to be and stick with it while I'm a total opposite of that, i hope they make a career day before i enter my senior year. I don't like you. Get off my back, Audrey a classmate of mine shouted at the guy disturbing her and that brought me back to life. I will just walk out in shame if i were him, Keisha said. What's that ? I asked. Can't you see, wait! You didn't know what just happened and you sat right here. Keish Said. I wasn't paying attention. I said. Or are you still not over Tristan. She said. It's not that. tell me what happened. I said. Well, Dylan was asking Audrey out, i think she declined quietly but he kept pestering her, clinging to her and i think she got provoked and shouted at him and insulted him. Keish said. I think he deserves it, he is such a flirt and he would only break the poor girl's heart, It was the right thing to decline. I said. Tell me about it, just last week he was asking harley out, the week before that it was Clara, i just pray for his sake he never makes the mistake of asking me out cause i will slap and embarrass him in the presence of everyone that he will never flirt again in his life. Keish said. I pity him, i don't think he can do that with you, I'm sure he knows how crazy you are. I said. I hope you are fine though. She said. I am. Keish, you said you want to be a journalist, yeah. When did you start liking journalism and what made you like it? I asked. First off i don't like journalism, i love it and i guessed I've always loved it since i was little but when i was thirteen my sister took me to court with her, you know she is a lawyer and when the case was over, i think the man wasn't guilty but he was sentenced to prison. Many journalist were outside ready to bombard the man with questions, apart from the fact that i liked how they spoke and dressed, Everyone was asking the Man why he did, obviously pointing he was guilty but this Lady made her way through the crowd, screamed into her microphone and everyone covered their ears cause you know the noise and while they were still recovering from whatever that was, she asked the Man " Do you have wife and kids?" I think he nodded then she said. "I would make sure i dig deeper to the root of this matter but in the main time, stay strong. She said and left. Everyone knew the man was not guilty but because of whatever the judge had announced, they pointed fingers even journalist who were suppose to speak for the truth, three months later, she indeed brought the truth to light and the man was released with an apology and Compensation from the Government so i want to be like her and i want to be a true journalist, a journalist of the truth no matter what majority says. Keish says. Wow, that's interesting, i wish i am like you, you have an ambition and it's out of love and reason, i don't have any, i don't know what to do with my life. I said. You are still young and besides you are smart, I'm sure you will figure something. She said. I hope. I said.

I think you need a distraction, something to get your mind off Tristan, i mean i still don't understand how you will like someone so much and you won't tell him and he practically tells you about all the girls he liked and you foolishly ave him advice about what to do to win their heart, honestly, you are so smart but u are dumb when it comes to matters of the heart. Keisha said. I'm not dumb, i just didn't want to spoil our friendship, i mean he doesn't like me that way, he only sees me as a little sister. I said. But you are not his mother or father's child. She said. Keish, come on you know what i mean, anyways telling him would have ruined our friendship and we wouldn't have talked again and i didn't want that. I said. Well, i quite understand you and now he is no longer here, you need to move on with your life, you are pretty, smart, bad ass,  I'm sure you'll find someone better who would worship the ground you work on. Keish said. Probably. I said. All i know is you need a distraction to stop thinking about him and hopefully get a life. Keisha said. So what is this perfect distraction? I asked. Well,  how about you join the press club, we are having this function where we get to interview people of ranks, fame and money, I'm talking Oprah Winfrey, I'm talking Donald trump, I'm talking Kim kardashian amidst many others. Keish said. I'm sure you are joking. I said laughing. Ok, fine we are starting small but I'm telling you, we might get to interview oprah winfrey with time. Keish said. So why exactly do you want me there? It's not like u want to be a journalist or something. I said. You know press club are not only for journalists? Any one can be in press club. She said. I know even though i feel it should be strictly for those are are driving down that path in future. I said. Come on,  i promise it will be so much fun and you would fall in love with us. Keish convinced. Ok fine but just because it might really distract me. I said. Yess... I know you won't regret this. She said. Whatever... Just tell me when next you guys meet. I said. We are meeting in a few hours. She said. Todayy? I asked. Yea, today, is there a problem? She asked. Babe.. I don't think i can attend today's own but i promise you I'll attend the next one. I said. No, you are coming with me for today's own and that's final, if you want to take a nap, do so now because in the next one hour 30 minutes we would leave. Keish said. But... No buts, i can't leave you here alone sulking by your self. Keish said. Ok mum. I said.

*** so guys this is Maria, I'm sure some of us know her, she is my class mate, very smart and confident, she will be joining us from today, please let's make her feel welcome. Keish who is also the vice president of the club said. Welcome Maria. Isabel said. Thank you. Welcome, welcome, more people welcomed me. Thank you guys so much, I'm so glad I'm here. I said. Sao in the absence of the president of this club, I'll be anchoring today's activities. So as we are all aware our interview session will be starting in two weeks, we would be reaching out to big alumni of this school first with the help of the principal because this would be used in our school's magazine and we want this to be big. Who knows if we pull this up well, we might just be interviewing kim oprah or oprah Winfrey. Keish said. I'm excited. Isabel said. I am too and we should all be, the president, myself and tiana, the secretary already spoke with the principal and he agreed. So now we just have to come up with interview questions and practice. So any one has an idea on how this should go ? Keisha asked. Isabel, she called. I think we should spit into groups of three and each group should come up with questions banks and then the president or you review it and select the good ones and we would prepare with it. Isabel said. Nicee isabel, always with good suggestions, anymore suggestions or we all agree with isabel. I totally agree with isabel but i think instead of you or the president reviewing the script, we should all do the reviewing together. I said. Hmmn... I think that makes total sense. Keish said. Any more idea. Keisha asked. Ok, since no one has any, i would divide the groups into three. Isabel, diane, frank. One team, Tiana, hellen, quinn team two. Finn, Taylor, matt, team three. Anita, chris, lorren, team four and Keisha, maria and gina, team five. Please we should start working on this immediately. Any other business??? Keisha asked. If none, we have come to till the end of this meeting, till friday. She said. Let's go. Keish said. So what do you think? She asked. About? I asked. About the interview session. She said. I think it's going to be bang. Thank you for convincing me to join. This is the perfect distraction. I said. You are welcome. Keisha said.
