I know it's not Friday and you are probably wondering why I'm posting a new chapter on a Tuesday. This is why:

And because that's absolutely insane, I decided to throw in a little extra chapter as a thank you to you guys, because this wouldn't be possible without you

If there are any spelling mistakes, please don't mind that, I spent the last few hours on this and it's 2 am now, so I could only proofread this once. Have fun! :)

People were looking at me strangely while they passed by. Admittedly, I probably was a very unusual sight. A woman with her horse and her dog who sat on a fence post and cleaned her gun. But I assumed that new faces were unusual at Emerald ranch anyways. At least no one had seen my bringing in the depth from Lily Milett earlier, otherwise they might have been a lot more interested.

I was waiting for Arthur to arrive. He hadn't told me where he wanted to meet up with Hosea. After a while though, I got impatient and jumped off the fence. Cat rose to her feet and looked up at me expectantly. I suspected that she was only following me around because she hoped to be fed, but it was still nice to have her with me. I pulled the reins over Smiths head to lead him. The three of us strolled down the main road through the farm while I looked out for a familiar face. When we arrived at the last barn, I was about to turn back when I heared a voice I recognized.

„...It's an interesting way of putting it, Seamus.", Hosea said, his voice muffled.

„Oh, no doubt, I do interesting very well. It's trusting I don't do so well.", a male voice replied.

I followed the sound and turned around the corner of the barn, where I found the older outlaw with a man I didn't know. „Please...", Hosea started, then he noticed me.

„Ah, (Y/n)! This is Seamus. He's our new partner."

The man raised a hand in an almost defensive gesture. „I ain't no such thing." But his eyes skimmed over me, interested. „Do you always keep women to work with you?"

„Miss (Y/n) just happened to join us. I can assure you, she does her job as well as any man.", Hosea defended me. It suprised me and sparked a warm feeling in my chest, I had been ready to reply something mean to show Seamus his place. A small smile curled my lips.

„Anyways...Prospective new partner, if he likes us.", the outlaw continued, unbothered, while I hitched Smith up next to his horse.

„Liking ain't the problem.", Seamus replied in the same low, unexpressive voice. „Trusting is, as I said." He raised from his seat and stepped closer to me and my companion. „Keep your voices down. I don't want my boss hearing. This is a sideline."

Hosea rose as well. „Of course. Look at us. Honest as the day is long."

„Exactly."

„Mornin' Hosea.", Arthurs gruff voice interrupted the mens bargaining and made me jump slightly. In between all the noises of the farm, animals, the clanking of metal and footsteps, I hadn't heard him coming. Cat trotted by his side, she had noticed him long before us and recognized him as a friend.
