In the realm where shadows play,
And morning light meets evening's seam,
There lies a love that fades away,
Yet lingers in a half-formed dream.
Too deep to ever fully erase,
It carves its mark within my soul,
A presence in each quiet space,
A part of me, both scar and goal.
Its depth is like a boundless sea,
Where every wave reflects your face,
Yet just beyond, where I can't be,
It dances in an empty space.
But though it dwells in shadows vast,
Its shallowness will not sustain,
For love that's built to only last
In fleeting moments, turns to pain.
We touched the sky with fingertips,
But never held the stars above,
Our journey fell to silent slips,
A love too deep to truly shove.
It's like a melody half-sung,
A story left with pages torn,
Its notes are sweet, yet left unsung,
A fire that neither warms nor mourns.
So here I stand, between the two,
A love that echoes, rich and rare,
Yet shallow in the way we knew,
A bond too deep to leave, too frail to bear.
