The next day, Juliet was closing her locker when her vision was blocked by a...circle?

"Cameron?" The girl asked as the boy moved the book out of their faces.

"What are we gonna do, Juliet? I don't think I can stand to not be with Bianca any longer. My heart yearns for her."

"Okay, settle down Shakespeare." The blonde laughed. "I'm not sure what we're doing to do, but I do right now I have to get to class."

Cameron sighed and followed the girl down the hallway. "You said you'd help me."

"I will! Just not at this moment."

"Juliet, come on. I'll...I'll pay you to help me!"

"Wait...that's actually not a bad idea." The girl nodded with a smile.

Wheels were already turning inside of her head.

Immediately the brunettes face dropped. "I have no money. I cannot pay you."

"Don't worry Cam," the blonde smiled, "you just wait until lunch."

And with that, the bell rang and Juliet disappeared into her classroom.

"So we're getting a backer?" Michael asked after Juliet explained her idea.

"Yes. We can pay Patrick to take Kat out."

Camron nodded and smiled. "You're a genius, Juliet."

"Please, please." She giggled and moved her hair from her face. "Now, who could we ask?"

The three scanned the room until the girl locked eyes on Joey Donner.

"Leave this one to me." The blonde announced, moving her way over to the boys table.

Upon arrival, she saw the boobs drawn on Joey's lunch tray. Stopping herself from gagging, the girl sat down with a big smile.

"Hey, Joey."

"Hey, Julie. To what do we owe this pleasure?" The raven hair boy smirked.

"Well, I've heard you want Bianca Stratford, right? But you can't date her 'cause of her house rules?"

"Yeah, what's it to you?"

The blonde laughed slightly and ran her hand up and down Joey's arm. "Well, I have an idea. Why don't you hire someone to date Kat? Someone like...Patrick Verona?"

"That guy? I heard he ate a live duck once." Joey grimaced as Juliet nodded. Quickly, he turned to eye the girl. "What's in it for you, Chilton?"

"Can't a friend just help out a friend?" The girl could feel puke rising in her throat. "Or even an ex?"

Joey laughed and gave a look to his friends. "Yeah, I'll think about it. Just for you, Julie."

"Gee, thanks!" Juliet fake smiled and got up as quickly as possible.

She didn't want to spend any time more near Joey and his minions than she had to. Not after previous years.

"What are you doing getting him involved?" Cameron frowned as the girl came back over.

"Relax now, relax." Michael smiled, coming to the blondes defense. "We let him pretend he's calling the shots. While he's setting things up, you have time with Bianca."

The other boy thought for a moment before nodding. "That is a good idea."

"Duh." Juliet quipped as she walked her way over to her friends table.

"You have been spending too much time with that new kid and your weird tutor." Adriana grimaced to her best friend.

"Oh please," the blonde laughed, "it's just for my grades. Nothing more."

"Right, okay."

•••••••

In soccer later that day, Juliet tried to get friendlier with Kat during their drills.

"Hey, Kat!"

"Hello, Juliet." The girl responded, not even looking up from her stretching.

"So...you see any cute guys recently?" The blonde asked with a small smile. She knew it was a weird question, but she had to know.

This got Kat to look up. "Please, unlike you, I don't spend every hour of the school day gawking at guys."

"Uhm, okay then." Juliet said, awkwardly backing away.

Whatever Joey was paying Patrick, couldn't be nearly enough.

Throughout their scrimmage, the blonde kept an eye on Joey who was speaking to Patrick. And Cameron and Michael who watched closely behind.

By the end of practice, two girls were sent to the nurse due to Kat and Juliet was eager to get home.

But that couldn't happen yet, as she had to wait and see what happened between Kat and Patrick.

She jogged over to her two friends with a smile.

"Nice hustle." Cameron said with a laugh.

"Oh shut up. Just watch."

The three surveyed the scene as Patrick failed horribly to get a date set with the older Stratford.

By the time the girl walked away, the three were all frowning.

"We are screwed." Cameron said with a sigh as Juliet looked up at him.

"Hey, no, hey. I don't want to hear that defeatist attitude." Michael said with a clap. "I want to hear you upbeat."

"We are screwed!"

"There you go." The curly headed boy nodded as the girl laughed.

Suddenly, a golf ball fell directly on the head of Juliet's coach.

"What the...?" Was all the girl could say as multiple people ran over to him. "I should be getting home. The walk with be longer today since I had soccer."

"I can give you a ride?" Cameron asked hesitantly.

Michael just looked at the girl. "I would offer, but my rides still in the shop."

Juliet laughed as she brushed her hair back. "That'd be great. Thanks, Cameron."

The two parted ways with the other boy, climbing into the front seat of Cameron's car.

"You're so lucky to have a car, y'know?"

"The old piece of junk?" The boy asked with a laugh.

Juliet rolled her eyes playfully. "Hey, something is better than nothing. Does it have a radio?"

The brunette nodded and he fidgeted with the switches.

Suddenly, Something by The Beatles filled the air.

"Agh! I love this song!" The blonde squealed as she began to sing along.

I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how
You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know

Cameron snuck glances at the girl the entire ride home, up to the point where she got out of his car.

"Thank you so much." She grinned. "Walking in this heat would've been something else."

"Always happy to help out a friend." The boy smiled back as the blonde waved goodbye.

He watched her walk through the front door, her favorite song still quietly playing in the background.
