Danny POV:
"You guys do know that the party started 2 hours ago, right?" I murmur, my hands busy with putting brown mascara over my eyelashes. I lean back from the counter to look at my face, pulling at my tight cheeks. Natalie sighs, one of many to come, I bet. The shower turns off and out steps Natalie, smelling like something floral.
"Danny, unfortunately, mascara and a bomb lip combo isn't enough for everyone, okay? Plus, we're black. This is expected." Natalie says, pushing the shower door closed and walking into her and Erika's shared bedroom. I chuckle softly as she switches her hips into their bedroom. Erika comes bustling in, picking stuff up off of the counter and slamming it down in annoyance, clearly searching for something.
"Erika?" I mutter looking at her. She hums in response as she opens each and every drawer in the bathroom and slamming it shut after shuffling through it.
"What's going on? What we looking for?" I ask grabbing her away from the drawers as she closes one particularly hard and huffs. I twirl her towards me and smile down at her flushed face which is very clearly missing the object she's looking for.
"DD, I can't find my glasses." She says, her face scrunched up into a scowl that rarely touches her face. I nod in response to her dilemma.
"Alright. I can see your frustration. Natalie?" I call out towards their shared room and Natalie hollers a 'yeah' in response.
"Have you seen Erika's glasses?" I say sighing, knowing that most likely, it's under one of the piles of shit Natalie has lying around in their room. She begins thinking out loud and under her breath as she looks around her side of the room, piles of clothes flying in different directions as she looks. She's a fashionista which often gets in the way of Erika's tidy impulses. Her towel clad torso flies up with an 'Ah!' as she holds the glasses towards the bathroom door.
Erika tuts, muttering under her breath as she walks back into her and Natalie's room.
Natalie pats her head gently, careful not to mess up the hair that Erika definitely worked hard on. They bicker a bit and I shake my head as I walk into me and Venus's shared room. She's got her phone shoved into her nose, and tucked under the covers.
"Just waiting on Natalie now." I mutter sighing as I slip next to her in the bed. I lay low, my head parallel to her chest. She doesn't acknowledge my comment with anything and I huff as she taps away.
"Still arguing with that boy, I assume." I say looking up at her. She nods and sighs, sending off what I can assume is a scathing message, and closing her phone.
"He has a problem with everything I do. I told him I'm going out with you all, and now I wanna fuck other men apparently." She says, twirling her phone charm in and out of her fingers.
"He is not your father, Venus. You're in a relationship, yes, but you're your own person. He cannot tell you what you can and cannot do." I say softly patting her arm and rubbing it a bit, like how I assume a mother would. Her shoulders shift into something more relaxed and she lets out a breath.
"I have never given him any reason not to trust me. Ever. I think he's projecting." She says
"We both know he is. You caught him doing weird shit plenty of times and he's scared you'll do the same. That's why his hairline is receding now, he's stressing." I say grinning up at her. She cackles loudly, her phone long forgotten. She nods in agreement.
"You're correct, as always. I'm always fully aware of everything you say but for some reason when you say it, it's different." She says, her body now fully facing mine as we lay on our arms
