A Broken Heart (Chapter 4)

The next morning Chloe & Justin wake up being so hungover they don't remember anything from last night...

Chloe's head throbs as she slowly opens her eyes, groaning at the brightness of the sunlight streaming through the nearby window...

Chloe: Ugh... my head...what the hell happened last night?

Justin: Fun happened last night.. At least I think Rachel likes you.. And the next thing I'm gonna tell you is gonna be tricky but you need to try your best okay?

Chloe rubs her temples, trying to ease the pounding in her head, but she's suddenly intrigued by Justin's words...

Chloe: Rachel...and tricky? What do you mean?

Justin: I'm gonna tell you another thing that you're gonna have to do..

Chloe rolls her eyes, a hint of annoyance in her voice...

Chloe: Oh great, more things to do. Alright, spill it. What is it?

Justin: Rachel's dad is cheating on her mother.. But isn't.

Chloe groans, still feeling the effects of the hangover...

Chloe: Wait, what? He's cheating but not? How does that even work?

Justin: Rachel's mother isn't her mother.. Her dad kept her real mother a secret.. And today Rachel is going to see if she's right about what she thinks.. But with you.. You guys are going to go to the local park.. And see him kissing her.. Then Rachel starts a massive fire.. And Juliet who's supposed to play in the tempest soon will be stuck in it and Rachel will say you want to play her part..

Chloe's mind is reeling from the news. First Rachel's parents, now this revelation about Juliet and a fire. It's hard to even comprehend in her hungover state...

After a moment, she responds...

Chloe: Wait, so Rachel's dad isn't really cheating, but he's keeping something from her? And we're going to go to the park and see her find out? Then Rachel starts a fire, and Juliet is stuck in it? How does all this connect to the play?

Justin: You're gonna be on stage in front of everyone taking Juliet's place.. Rachel will stare at you.. She will change her lyrics and talk things she feels about you.. And don't worry.. It will go well.

Chloe takes a deep breath, trying to absorb everything she's just heard. This is all so sudden and unexpected...

Chloe: Wait, so you're telling me that not only am I going to be on stage with Rachel, but she's going to change her lyrics to talk about me? And you say it will go well...how can you be so sure?

Justin: Because I know.. Remember.

Chloe nods, still feeling a bit unsure but trusting Justin's words...

Chloe: Alright, I'll take your word for it. But how do you know it will go well? It all sounds a bit crazy to me.
