ZURI

12 VOTES FOR AN UPDATE!!!

TWO WEEKS LATER

The sun was just beginning to peak over the horizon, casting long, dancing shadows across my room.

I was already up, my heart pounding with excitement.

Today was the day of Charisma's pool party since her and Michael had gotten together and decided to move in with one another.

This was basically like a mini celebration for them.

I couldn't wait to escape the confines of my house and dive into the refreshing water.

I rummaged through my closet, pulling out a bright, fuchsia pink swimsuit that I had bought about a month ago.

I carefully slipped it on, admiring my reflection in the mirror.

My hair, usually a wild mess of curls, was now neatly straightened. I looked really good.

Just as I was about to apply the finishing touches of my makeup, the door creaked wide open.

Dorian, stepped into the room, his face etched with a mix of annoyance and curiosity.

"Where the fuck you going dressed like that Zuri?"He asked, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

My heart sank, I had barely spoken to Dorian since the incident that happened between us, a memory that I was desperate to forget.

But deep down I knew I couldn't avoid him forever.

"Charisma invited me to a pool party." I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.

Dorian raised an eyebrow. "A pool party? On a week day?"

"It's a special occasion," I defended. "Charisma and Michael just moved in together."

"Well you definitely can't go dressed like that," Doroan said as he pointed at my outfit. "That shit is way too revealing."

I felt a surge of anger. "It's just a swimsuit, we're literally gonna be in the pool."

"It's inappropriate." He insisted. "You're showing too much. Zuri don't dress like a thot."

"You're the only one who has a problem with it," I retorted. "It's you that's always trying to control someone around here."

Dorians eyes narrowed "Don't fucking talk to me like that."

"Why not? You're always acting like I'm a fucking kid or something."

The argument escalated quickly, our voices rising higher and higher. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes but I refused to let Dorian see me cry because it wasn't that deep.

"If it's that serious I'll just change then." I finally said, my voice trembling.

"Good, I don't want you embarrassing me because I'm going as well." Dorian replied.

"Whatever, bro." I said in annoyance.

"Yep." He nodded.
