Young Vivienne's POV:

"You girls look really tired" Dr. Crawson shared a concerned look. "Did you sleep well?" We were once again speed walking down the corridors for breakfast.

"Mhm" Sonya nodded. We both glimpsed at each other, slighthly grinning.

Dr. Crawson slowed down and stopped, once again gave us the look. "Do you need me to arrange new beds for you girls? You look like haven't slept well."

"No, we should be okay" I smiled.

~

"What was that about?" Harriet said as she sat next to me with her tray.

"What was what about?" Sonya questioned chewing.

"The sleep thing? What was Crawson talking about?" Harriet took a spoonful of cereal.

"Ohhh, that" Sonya giggled. "Me and Vivienne stayed up all night talking, getting to know each other" She smiled.

"Oh I heard that" Harriet laughed, "The whispering, It was madly annoying"

"Sorry" I laughed, taking a sip of orange juice. "We heard you shushing us, we tried being quiet you know!" I whisper-yelled.

"Yeah, whatever" Harriet rolled her eyes, smiling.

"Iv'e been thinking." I started after a 5-second pause of talking. "How come Dr. Crawson is our resident? I mean, shes a doctor, shes supposed to be helping people, curing them. I never actualy see her doing that, every other doctor does apart from her. She's constantly with us."

"That's true!" Sonya put her spoon down. "I thought about that too! She is a real doctor, I know she is. So how come she isn't doing that now?"

"I heard wants her to focus on a 'cure' of some sorts. But Mr.Janson said she needs to look after us before doing so." A girl Rosa inturrupted, "It's not fair on her. She just wants to do her job i guess."

"That's really sad." Sonya's smile faded.

"Wait, what do you mean by cure?" I curiously asked.

"I don't know, you didn't hear that from me, kay?" She responded before eating again.

We sat in silence again, until we finished eating. But we started talking again, sharing more and more things about ourselves. We just never brought Crawson.

~

Sonya and I told Harriet about what we talked about the night before, about our families and friends. We would stay up sleepless nights chatting, chatting, chatting. Some girls would often ask us what exactly were chatting about, and we would chat to them too. At one point, there would be a whole circle of us just chatting about ourselves, getting to know so much about each other. Although the walls of our dorms were thicker than ever, we would whisper, not to wake anyone outside of our room up. It was amazing getting to know each other.

~

"You have got to be the most talkative group of 13 year olds I have ever seen" Dr. Crawson laughed, taking us to the cafeteria.

Once we got there, we grabbed our trays, and sat at our usual table. Chatting, obviously.

"All right girls, in 20 minutes we will be doing your daily checks. We will ask you to line up in pairs by that door over there, got it?" She said, pointing at a door in the back of the canteen. "The tests will contain needles, since we need to sample your blood, so if anyone requires numbing cream for the pain, please come over to the station over there." Crawson pointed at a table with medical equipment. "Please do so now, that is. We don't need any tears". That triggered many girls in my group to quickly run over to the table.

"I have an extremely low pain tolerance, so I'm getting that numbing cream" Sonya quickly announced to myself and Harriet.

"I'm coming with!" Harriet hurridly ran behind Sonya. I guess I had to go too then.

"Wait for me guys!" I mumbled, rushingly stuffing a spoon of cereal into my mouth before attempting to get out of my seat.

~

"Damn that was painful." I grumbled, holding my arm tight.

"Well you don't- say." Sonya sniffled before wailing again

"You'll be ok, Sonya" I smiled, comforting her. We were still waiting for Harriet, who still hadn't come back. "Dr. Crawson, where's Harriet? She hasn't been back for-"

"She has to do some extra tests" Crawson cut me off.

"Will she be ok?" Sonya suddenly sniffled.

"Yes, shes fine" Crawson had a suspicious look on her face, as if she was hiding something.

"When will she-" I asked, before getting cut off again, this time by the man from earlier, Janson.

"She's coming back soon Vivienne. Don't worry." He also had suspicious look, except he was smiling. He was always smiling.

"Vivienne it hurts!" Sonya wailed again, squeezing her arm.

"Damn, it's like the water works in here. Crawson, sort them out for God's sake." He commanded. "Do your job." He said rudely, looking her up and down. He walked towards the door he came from "Crawson, I need those kids in bed by 7:00" He mentioned. Not even looking looking back o talk to her. But he can't just speak to her like that!

"You can't just speak to her like that!" I spoke up.

I looked at Dr. Crawson agressively shaking head no.

"What did you just say?" Janson turned to look at me.

"I said you can't speak to her like that! She's a doctor, not a babysittier!" I exclaimed again. I didn't know what I was doing, but I wasn't going to stand down now.

"You have some nerve speaking to me like that Henderson." He said, scowling his brows close.

"No, she didn't mean it" Dr. Crawson reassured, squeasing my shoulder. Heavily glancing at me, shaking her head 'No' again.

"I do mean it. She's a doctor! Let her do her real job!" I wriggled out of Crawson's hand. "We know what your'e doing!" (we didn't).

"Right, that's it! Montgomery, Vincent, take the girl to the subject A section, med wing!" Janson exclaimed to the guards behind him. They grabbed me by each arm and started dragging me to the door, making my recently injected arm hurt really badly.

"Let go of me!" I kicked and screamed.

"Vivienne!" Sonya exclaimed, getting out of her seat. "No! Come back!" I could see her eyes filled with tears, just like mine.

~

The guards dragged me to another room, far from the cafeteria. Two doctor-scientist looking people strapped me to a chair.

"Right, you do not speak to me like that ever again." Janson walked into the lab.

"Let, me, Go!" I exclaimed, trying to wriggle free.

"No, we wont, not until you tell me what you know." He said, surprisingly calmly after the way I screamed at him.

"I don't know anything." I stared at my feet.

"You sure? Because if you don't tell us, there will be some serious consequences, Henderson." He spoke.

"All I know is that-" I quietly mumbled. "That Dr. Crawson want's to work on a cure."

"Mhm..."

"But I don't even know that's true!" I reassured. "Another girl told me!"

"Alright shush." He inturrupted." We're taking you to another section tonight, and you aren't going back to the girls anytime sooner."

"So who am I going to? Boys?" I exclaimed.

"Something like that."
