Graveyard

Have you ever felt like someone sucking your soul? Have you ever gone to a graveyard, a place full of lives, yet people's eyes there told you a different story, a lifeless one perhaps? The place where people are together for the same reason that is grieving yet they are so alone while going through that pain. The place where the only solution to everything is too poisonous because everything there is in excess. The place where shivers pass through your body, the moment you kept your foot on those ground. The place that makes you want to cover yourself in something warm but lacks warmth. It is so chill that it freezes the souls and dreams and also steals the fire that is needed to melt the ice around those innocent lives and bury the beauty of them with those lifeless bodies. The place is so incapable of growing life yet has made many lives grow in a moment, taking away the most precious gift of living it.

Four kids who had never gone to the graveyard just heard descriptions from people around and read feelings of people in books when they reach graveyard and believed the main den "Training Area of RLD2A2" as a graveyard. They never realize it, but their tiny hands reach another pair of hands, trying to give and take warmth both while their eyes lock themselves with others, not letting the other pair of them lose life in their personal graveyard.

Unfortunately for them, neither their subconscious nor those eyes have grown out of each other like they have or they pretend to have.

The moment they kept their feet second time on those cursed lands after childhood, their hands intertwined with each other again, trying to exchange warmth in those cold flinching walls, and their eyes locked with other pairs of eyes, trying to protect it from this lifeless place, but those eyes pulled away immediately, looking at another pair of eyes the same as this place, lifeless, and those hands, which had promised to hold each other forever, left flinching in the coldness of others hands.

They don't laugh, cry, or feel sad at their naive selves who believe this place is a graveyard, but they were sure jealous of that foolish version of them because at least they have never carried a graveyard in their own hearts. They saw four kids tightly holding each other's hands, trying their best not to let their eyes move from other pairs of eyes, which were full of life. Mirror version of them!

They look at each other standing with distance from each other and eyes moving everywhere but where it should lock and think painfully that they would never be like them. Like them. They never realized, but those warmth and life were lost like many others, loose to make these cold and unmoving walls. Uncountable and irreversible!

Those four kids were so eager to leave this place, as it was making their hearts beat so loudly from fear. They look at themselves now, who were so eager to go inside to make their already fast-beat heart stop. Scared of their own fears.

Could you ever have your own childhood version back? No.

Why are children so eager to grow? Because they are curious and never understand that curiosity kills the cat, but also because no one tells them that it also kills life.

They are never told that adulthood is the deathbed where their dreams, wishes, innocence, and everything that makes life a life is either killed or dies.

Give any person a single chance, and all he would wish is to go back in childhood, and that was the chance those four cold adults wish to have. Unfortunately, not a single person in those places has not begged for it, or in this whole world, yet none get it, nor would they.

All they can do is move forward like they did inside those walls and reach the coldest place of that cold place, "The Water Arena."

Reyansh looked at his siblings expressionless, cold, and non empathetic faces and had a little tiny bit of hope that this wouldn't go to an extreme level because this place had some kind of black magic that made people control their emotions themselves only.

His happiness was short lived as he realized that he had to make their real emotions come out because the enemy is not going to give them places that help them control their emotions but rather provoke them until they face defeat, so to control their emotions themselves even after being provoked, they need to realize their own emotions so they can change when they need or are losing, and that would happen only after breaking them.

"Rules are simple; you have to answer a question, and for every incorrect answer there are consequences, okay?" Reyansh questioned firmly, and everyone nodded because it seemed fair and something that had happened a lot, especially in football or basic combat classes, but they didn't understand why they were specially called here for it instead of their home pool.

Their question was answered soon, and they would wish later that it wouldn't have.

"So everybody, please take a look at the pool. There are platforms of varying sizes suspended above the water at different levels of height, and you all would be tied with rope and chain at the highest level. These platforms may sway or rotate depending on how your answers affect my mood, but if you are not on the platform, then the wires inside the rope you would be tied to would start electric shocks until you kept your foot on the platform again. For every wrong answer, one platform would blast, and that person would fall inside the pool, get punishment inside the water, and then climb himself to the second highest platform, where he would be locked again, this time with something that resists current much less than rope, and the intensity of punishment and question would keep increasing, but the person who would be first to blast all his platforms and fall on that cage in the pool will... Well, you all better pray that you are not that person, because let's just say it won't end well." For others.

They all look at each other for the first time since the afternoon fight, which Aditya didn't know and was going to ask Luke, but Reyansh ordered them to reach this graveyard, so he didn't have a chance to with a silent promise to pass the time till their training hour ends before anybody reaches the last platform. They were sure they could manage it if they took turns losing even when every question answer was incorrect by taking punishment in more time as they could manage it psychologically.

But little did they know this was not only to test them in deep water but also to drown them in the whirlpool of their own bonds, weaknesses, and powers. To complete one promise, they had broken each other's hearts. Now this one broken promise is going to make them heal their own hearts, which reside in each other.
