"A-xian, thi...this is your....your fr...frie...friend ya?" Mr. Jiang asked with a mix of confusion and surprise. He already knew this person wasn't just a friend but wanted to hear it from Wei Wuxian and not assume anything, at least for now.

Wei Wuxian released the breath he was holding, swallowed hard and closing his eyes preparing himself to face anything that would follow said loud enough to not repeat again "Meet Lan Wangji, my husband"

It was as if the time has paused, the next thing he heard was
"WHAT?" and he couldn't believe whose voice he heard.

Mr. and Mrs. Wei had retired and have returned back to China that day. They were staying at the Jiang's, they wanted to give Wuxian a surprise and had thought to directly go to his apartment the next morning. But here he was with a boy who barely looked 21 whom he mentioned as his husband.

Wangji was already looking young for his age, especially in jeans and t-shirt he looked even younger.

Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng were shocked to see them. It was already difficult to manage the Jiang's and now the Wei couple were here too, that's even worse. They have thought of telling Jiang's and with their help letting Wuxian's parents know the whole situation but this was like a huge blow to everyone.

Wangji had shut his eyes tight, he wasn't expecting anything better. He wanted to hold onto someone but even his husband was a person he know nothing about. The guilt was killing him from inside. Only if he would have been careful that night, only if he could convince his people, only if he wasn't scared to go against the village rules.

Yanli fell back on the sofa. She was dumbstruck, her mind was clouded. Mrs.Wei held her chest not being able to breath properly. Mr.Wei stood still, holding his wife, eyes on his son. Mr.Jiang was looking between all three of them trying to figure out things, he couldn't believe his ears, his A-xian can never do something like this. They all knew Wuxian is bisexual, so it's not unexpected for him to like a guy. But how could he just come home married? Not even a word about this, he said nothing about this to any of them and if he would have, they were willing to let him be with anyone he wants then why do this?

"A-xian, this isn't a joke right?" Yanli asked weakly and knew the answer to it when both Wuxian and Cheng were quiet.

"A-xian, what have we done wrong to you son?" Mrs.Wei asked weeping.

Mr.Jiang's eyes locked with his son's "Jiang Cheng, did you know this?"

Cheng knew that tone of his father. It's usually the one just before making him feel guilty. What could he do? It was Wuxian's choice. Jiang Cheng knew his father would at the end throw the blame at him when he comes to know the whole story, he was trying to do it even before knowing anything.

"Why are you looking at my son? What did Cheng do? If you should ask something, you should ask that to your Wuxian." Mrs.Jiang said angrily "Everyone's favorite has come home married. Don't anyone wanna ask him anything?"

"Whatever he does, Cheng will know about it too." Mr.Jiang was quick to reply.

"Haha, so? Isn't he old enough to know what he is doing? My son is still supposed to keep him out of trouble?" She went on for god knows how long saying it was all because Wuxian was pampered a lot, he thinks he can do anything he wants and that he should be held responsible for all these, he couldn't stand on his own and who knows what more he does behind his parents.

Wuxian's eyes were on his parents who were just listening to Mrs.Jiang say whatever she felt like hanging their heads low. They have never done that before. "Pa, Ma..." he said in low voice.

Before he continue Mr.Jiang said "We never expected this from you Wuxian. Is this what you give us? Is this what you return to your parents? Is this the gift for all the love we showered on you, for letting you do everything that you like?"
