An Affair?

I have been feeling like he is being distant after that day. He is always busy and comes back home pretty late. I once asked about it and he said workload is more due to inspection in hospital.
Xian ge is someone who sleeps late and I was used to sleeping exactly at 9pm since childhood. Though I struggle to keep myself up till he reaches home, the moment he gets in, freshens up and have dinner, I go to bedroom and doze off immediately. Nowadays he has stopped having dinner at home and tells that he had it from the hospital canteen and goes to sleep as soon as he reaches. Is it due to me?

We no longer get time to talk much. Though I always have my dinner early, I prefer sitting with him while he eats so that even if it's for just a few minutes, we still get to talk everyday before sleeping which he has put an end to. We don't go for walks now, how much I miss those evenings.....I tried telling him this and he said he is busy so if I wanna go somewhere, why not ask Qing jie to join, as if it's me who wants to go out....I mean our walks are different, what am I supposed to do with her. Everyone around me is so busy, yesterday when I called aunty, she was busy and then I called Xingchen, he is busy too. Today when I told him Xian ge doesn't have time for me, my best friend said I was whining like a kid and that he really might be busy. He doesn't understand....no one does. When I said that to him, he said that I have changed....like seriously? I have changed? I don't know from where or due to what, I'm both angry and disappointed.....at who? Probably at ME. This is just so frustrating. 

What is even more frustrating is that Xian ge, though says he is tired, texts someone exactly at 10pm and nowadays at around the same time instead of a message he receives a call and to answer it he goes out of the room and walks back in after about 45min. who is he talking to at this time of night?

"It's just in your head Wangji" Xingchen said from the other end of the phone.

"No, no. He always sounds so happy talking with that person" Wangji complained

"Did you eavesdrop?" 

"No...I mean I was curious to know who it is. I just happened to go to washroom at that time, heard it on the way."

"Hmm....what did you hear?" he said leaving out a long sigh, didn't look like he'll be leaving without having to hear the whole thing.

"I heard him say things like....I miss those days together, wish you were here, I wanna see you too, when are you coming?, want me to pick you up?, how long will you stay?, I promise I'll make time for you if you come here, see you soon then" Wangji said trying to imitate Wuxian's voice, which according to him sounded so sweet and annoying while talking to that person.

"How long were you passing by? You said you just heard it on the way...." he asked surprised.

"I...I told you what you want, now tell me what you think about this." 

Xingchen wasn't gonna answer him that easily. He wanted to know the whole story behind this. He knew something had happened in between them, no way his best friend act like this without a reason. Wangji would have don't something and it wasn't tough for him to guess as they have been friends since the time they remember.

Wangji wasn't used to sharing these kind of things with anyone, there wasn't anything to share before anyway but.....he was shy to be honest. Xingchen on the other hand was just shameless, he could go on and on about these kind of things. His shameless best friend, after his first kiss, had given a detailed explanation to Wangji about how it felt, just by hearing to which Wangji was embarrassed. Now was it his turn to explain the whole thing? 

He had tried his best to make it simple and quick, not getting into any details though Xingchen asked a few questions purposefully which Wangji avoided. At the end his bestie has reached a conclusion "About Dr.Wei, from what I have heard from you I think.....you are overthinking Wangji".  Of course Wangji was expecting him to feed into his delulu, so once he tried to knock some sense in...he didn't like it and started arguing unnecessarily.
