If there was a day Ummi was not a fan of, it would be Monday. Monday's mean she has to go to school, don't get her wrong she likes going to school but not all the work it comes with.
The fact that she has to wake up early on Monday's because she has 8:am lectures and her being a person who doesn't like waking up early, makes it a challenge.
She reluctantly wakes up and gets ready for her lectures.
Since she can't drive yet, she has to wait for her brother to take her to school.
She sat on the sofa,waiting for her brother to wake up, she already went several times to wake him up and he keeps on saying 'I am coming'
He finally came out still looking a bit sleepy "mu je" he said heading to the car park
He opened the car and got into the driver's seat, while Ummi sat on the passenger seat. He turned the engine on and drove off.
She was just in time for her lectures, she stepped out of the car and thanked him.
She headed to her lecture hall and took her seat on the second roll.
"Hey" Yusrah waved, taking her seat close to Ummi
"Ya kike" she replied smiling
"ina Yasmeen" she inquired about the whereabout of Yusrah's twin
"tana waje tare da Hafsat" she said pointing at the exit
"Yawwa ga su nan" she added tilting her head towards Yasmeen and Hafsat
"kun ga yanxu ma nake tambayan ku" Ummi stated
They both took their seats "kinyi kewan mu Kenan" replied Yasmeen
"Kohh" Ummi replied sarcastically
"wai ina wancan matan neh" Ummi asked refering to Ummulkhairi
"wa ya sani, killa tana shirya yara" Hafsat replied chuckling
"bari in kira ta inji" Ummi dialed Ummulkhairi's number
Ummulkhairi answered the call "hello gani nan cikin class" she raised her hand so they could see her
"kin gama shirya yaran kenan" Yasmeen said
"wani yara" Ummulkhairi asked looking confused as she took her seat
"Muneerah bata iso ba koh, kuma ta kira ni wai nayi sauri" she said
"wani Muneerah" A voice from behind asked
"dama kin iso" Hafsat asked
"Yanxu na iso" Muneerah replied rubbing her face
"baki yi bacci ba hala" Ummulkhairi asked
"Kodai an hana ni bacci. da kyar na tashi da safen nan" Muneerah replied
"I am not a fan of this morning lectures" Muneerah added placing her bag on the table
"No one is" Ummi replied
The lecturer came in and began his lecture.
"That is all for today class, make sure to submit the assignment on time" the lecturer concluded exiting the hall.
"daga dawowa sai a bamu assignment" Yasmeen complained
"ai shi'neh" Ummi added
They picked their bags and exited the hall.
They had a two hour interval before their next lecture, so they went to the car park and sat on the bench.
A group of three girls came passing by, the one in the middle stopped and walked towards where the girls were.
"Ummi" the girl called out
"Amatullah" she called
"Ya kike" Amatullah asked her
"Lafiya qalou, Ya kike" Ummi replied
"Lafiya qalou, kwana biyu"
"ai fah"
"Sannun ku" she said to the girls
Ummi and Amatullah chatted for some time, catching up on all the time they missed.
Amatullah was Ummi's primary school classmate, they were so close.
"zanyi miki magana ta WhatsApp, tohh sai anjima" Amatullah said getting ready to leave
She and Amatullah had exchanged contacts
"sai anjima" Ummi said waving goodbye at Amatullah
"Primary school classmate ina ce" Ummi informed the girls after Amatullah left
They said 'Ohhh'
"har yanxu Tumba bata iso bah. kuma na kira ta bata dauka bah" Muneerah said
"Killa tana bacci neh" Yusrah said
They sighted Tumba approaching them.
She reached where they were "Hey guys" Tumba said
"Tumba sai yanxu" Ummulkhairi asked
"na tashi latey neh, na makara" Tumba replied
"nima saura kadan na makara" Muneerah stated
They all walked together to the lecture hall for the next lecture
Once they were inside the hall, they each took their seats
The lecturer came in and informed that the class won't be holding today "Class I won't be able to hold a class today. I will send an assignment to the class rep, which he would share with the class, do endeavour to submit on time" the lecturer concluded and left
"Two assignments in a day" Muneerah complained
"an baku assignment dazu" Tumba asked no one in particular
"Eh" Hafsat replied
"Please send it to me"
"Okay tohh"
Since the lecture wasn't going to hold, they went to the cafeteria. They bought their food and sat down to eat.
They were eating when a boy from behind came "Tumba ya kike" the boy named Ahmed asked
"Lafiya qalou" Tumba replied with a straight face
Ahmed has feelings for Tumba, but she doesn't have feelings for him. She has told him countless times but he refused to listen.
"Tohh sai anjima" Ahmed said seeing as Tumba won't say anything more
"ke da mutumin ki" Ummi teased once he was out of sight
"ya cika naci" Tumba complained causing them to laugh at her statement.
