On a Friday night, October 5th, 1979, a girl was born under the stars. Although, the stars were only visible due to the glass dome surrounding a quaint, circular bedroom. The room's theme was clear: celestial. A simple look around and one was met with gorgeous images of planets, galaxies, and most importantly, constellations.
The new mother, exhausted, scanned her surroundings, finding comfort in the decor she specifically picked out. She took deep, shaky breaths, unable to stop the small grin spreading across her face. She closed her eyes and continued to see bright ovals of light dancing across her shut lids. She was content. Her child was here. A new blessing in her life, and her gift from the universe. She internally thanked the heavens for making her baby healthy, and thanked them again for allowing her to survive as well.
"Aurora," the Nurse called out, causing the mother to open her eyes, "you haven't named her yet."
The mother couldn't help but curse herself for not picking out a name already. She turned her head up towards the sky, staring into views above as the white lights shone against a black canvas in her vision.
That's when she saw it. The constellations that always stood out to her easily. Spotting them was second nature to her.
But right in the middle, clear as the glass above, as if the stars were looking back at her, she saw it. The music of the sky, the instrument among animals and heroes. She didn't break her gaze as she responded to the Nurse awaiting her answer,
"Lyra."
