A week later

My phone screen lights up on the counter when a text message comes through while I'm brushing my teeth inside the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror. My dominant hand picks it up and unlocks it. A smile grows on my face when I see a text message from Evan, a really cute boy in my class. Last week during lunch he walked over to me and gave me his number.

"How are you liking your new home?" I almost jump in the air when I hear a small voice behind me. Spinning around with wide eyes, and toothpaste over my mouth while still holding my toothbrush, I inhale deeply seeing Sydney hopping on the counter.

Turning the faucet and letting the water run, I spit in the sink then rinse my mouth with a handful of warm water, putting the toothbrush back inside its cup. "I fucking love it."

My blonde bestie is wearing a pink two piece bathing suit and white flip flops with a white see-through beach robe. She looks stunning. Her tan skin is actually glowing and her hair is wavy down her back.

"Told you so," she shrugs, picking up my phone when it chimes again. "Looks like you and quiet boy seems to be getting closer. How long have you two been talking?"

"A week," I smile as she gives me back my phone. She knows my passcode and I know hers. "Are you going swimming?" I ask her when she hops down off the counter.

"Yeah, I was gonna ask you if you would like to join me by the pool."

I shrug, wiping the toothpaste off my mouth and chin with a towel. "Sure. My bathing suit is around here somewhere." Sydney smiles on her way out the bathroom.

Rummaging through all my stuff inside my closet, I found my gold two-piece swim suit which is probably like a size too small but Sydney had bought it for me so I might as well wear it.

Once I changed out of my clothes and into the small swim suit that shows almost everything and I mean everything, from the very low crease of my boobs to the thong in between my ass cheeks, I exit the guest house with a towel.

The sun kisses all over my skin as I walk around the edge of the pool shielding my face from the harsh light with just my hand. Sydney is relaxing on a lounge chair with her golden hair all down her back and a sunscreen bottle on the ground. She's on her stomach, head on top of her folded arms and her eyes closed.

"You're not going to swim?" I throw the towel on the other lounge chair.

Sydney smiles, opening her eyes. "In a little bit. I'm enjoying the sun at the moment."

I nod and then dive into the cool water, swimming all the way to the bottom and then back up again to get some air. My eyes are squeezed shut as I brush my drench hair back from my face with both hands as my head is above the water.

Opening my eyes, I blink several times and then look around after not seeing Sydney stretched out on the lounge chair as she were just minutes ago. I swim towards the ladder and climb out the pool, heading inside the mansion through the back patio doors with my drenched hair down my back.

Water drips from my body and the bottom of my feet creates puddles as I roam through the long halls, passing by many closed doors and sitting areas before reaching the kitchen.

I almost jump out of my skin seeing a man in business attire standing with his back against the fridge sipping a beer. I'm completely frozen when his hazel eyes lands on me after not realizing I've been here for more than a few seconds.

"Hey," he smirks, setting the bottle down on the island. The tension between us is very thick. In fact so thick I can barely breathe. How does this stranger have such an effect on me when we just met?

My voice is stuck in my throat as his eyes analyzes my body. I begin stuttering. "Um, hey." For some odd reason I feel pretty hot even though I just got of the pool minutes ago.

"Can I get you a drink young lady?" He politely offers, turning around pulling the fridge open. I can't help but stare at his muscular back and tatted right hand as it holds onto the handle.

My soul seems to have left my body because I can't seem to move a muscle and my heart completely stopped beating regularly. Instead it's pumping way faster I'm surprised he can't hear it because I can. This man is so damn attractive that its got me starstrucked. "Actually, I was looking for Syd."

The sexy man closes the fridge and then focuses back on me. "I think she's in one of the bathrooms. Just before you came I saw her run in here holding her stomach." He chuckles and I smile back at him genuinely thinking he's got to be the sexiest man I've laid eyes on. He looks too perfect. Straight out of a magazine I would guess.

I then remember my manners. "Oh, I'm Angel. Sydney's friend. Just last week I moved in the guesthouse."

"I know who you are. She talks about you a lot." He stands tall with his hands inside his front pants pockets, eyes still glued to me. "You can call me Vance."

I gulp with a smile. "Oh, right. Sydney's dad." Why didn't I guess that before? Hell, who else would he be?

Mr. Powell nods in confirmation, sliding his phone out of his pocket when it starts blaring. "Duty calls. Sorry but I must take this. It was nice meeting you, Angel." He takes one of my hands and kisses the back of it while staring intensely into my eyes.

"Nice meeting you too." I say softly behind his back as he exits the kitchen, answering the phone call.

Jumping back in the pool, I lie above the water on my back and relax while floating and baking underneath the beautiful sun. God, it feels like summer already. My eyes are closed and my bottom lip is between my teeth as I stream with the water, allowing it to push me all around.

"Did you find her yet?" A masculine voice scares the shit out of me.

Turning over in the water I wipe a hand down my face and then stare up at the CEO in the dark blue suit holding a pack of cigarettes while one is in between his lips unlit.

"I'm sorry, what?" I squint up at him, standing up in the pool with my arms swaying back and forth. His head blocks the sunlight.

Vance grabs a lighter from his breast pocket and then lights the end of the cigarette, taking a puff from it before placing it between two fingers. "Did you find Sydney?"

Gulping with water dripping down my face, I shake my head no and then stiffen when he just stares at me while squatting down. "How old are you?" Smoke travels towards me from his mouth.

"Eighteen." I hesitate. This man is so perfectly crafted he looks like a God.

Vance chuckles, pushing his hair back with one hand while I'm staring at the large gold rings on his fingers as he takes another drag from the cigarette. If I'm not mistaken, he gotta be in his mid forties because I remember Sydney and her mom throwing him a birthday party last year in the fall.

"Hm," is all he says, rubbing underneath his chin and gliding his tongue over his bottom lip. Vance then stands up when his daughter finally comes out the house carrying two sodas.

"Angel, you better be thirsty because I brought you a drink!" Sydney smiles and speaks to her dad while sitting down on the edge of the pool, relaxing her light pink painted toenails in the water.

The man of the household glances at me one long last time while Sydney is occupied with her phone. He winks and I shyly smile at him, swimming backwards. Then he says to Sydney. "I'm going to pick up your mother." And just like that he exits the property through the back gate.

While he walks, I can't help but stare at his ass.
