Our Marriage

CHAPTER 3

2 months later, 

Nandini was sitting on bench and looking around. Today is valentines day, everyone was celebrating love. She opened her mobile and looked at Manik's photo and whispered, 'Happy valentine's day, Manik.'

In all these months, she has madly fallen in love with her husband. It's so difficult to not to fall for a caring and loving man like him. She tried all possible mean to stop her heart but she couldn't help but fall for him. 

'Manik, I love you. Every day, you made me fall for you more. I can't stop myself from falling for you when you sat beside me in the night to gave me shoulder when I cried for my mom. I couldn't stop myself falling for you  when you wake me up in the morning to go to college and pack my bag. I couldn't stop myself when you fight with your grandmother for me. I couldn't stop myself when you leave all your work to come to me whenever I need.'

She took a deep breath,' Manik Malhotra, you made me fall for you. I am madly in love with you but what about you? Do you love me?' 

She came out of her trance hearing her phone, she picked the call and said, 'Hello'

'Nandini, I am waiting for you in the car. Please come fast.' Saying this he cut the call. Putting her phone in bag, she walked toward the car and said while sitting in the car,' How was your office?' 

Manik smiled listening to her question, it was first question she asked him after coming from college and he really likes this. His dad was always busy with the company, and his mom's focus was always on Dhruv, probably because he was younger. And for his grandmother, he never existed unless she needed something. Since childhood he missed having someone listen to him, someone ask him how his day was. 

He heard Nandini's voice,'Manik, where have you lost?' He shook his head and said, 'Nothing' And then he started telling her about his days while she was listening with a smile. 

The car was at the red light, they were talking to each other when a girl came and said, 'Sir, today is valentines day. Please buy this rose for your wife.' 

Manik smile and purchased roses from the girl, seeing this Nandini asked, 'Have you purchased this roses for your girlfriend?'

He chuckled and said while giving her rose,' No, this is for my wife.' Nandini looked at him with wide eyes, she asked still in surprise, 'For me?'  Small smile appeared on her face seeing his sweet gesture. 

He nodded and said , 'Yes, mom told me today is valentines day. She wanted me to give you flowers and gift. And she wanted us to have dinner outside. Remember, we will eat dinner outside.' Nandini's smile faded listening to him, it made her sad thinking , everything he was doing this for his mother. With faint smile, she took the flower and murmured, 'Thank you'

He smile and drove the car to the home.
