You had run all the way back to your room, your heart pounding in pain. Every time you close your eyes you can see Steve, the way he held that woman. The noises they made together. It was burned into your brain. The tears hadn't stopped falling, your face paint running down your neck and chest with them.

You felt so broken, the one man you thought you could always trust had shattered you into a million pieces along with your heart. You grab a framed picture of you and Steve, he was holding and smiling down at you. You scream and throw it across the room, it hits the wall with a crash, glass shattering everywhere. Everywhere you look, there's something that reminds you of Steve.

He had picked the curtains, his drawings stuck to one wall. His running shoes poked out of the closet and his shield was against the wall. He was everywhere, everywhere you looked and it was killing you.

You head to the bathroom and scrub your face clean, it doesn't make you feel better but you wanted the makeup off. You don't bother with anything else, you just take off again. You couldn't stay in this room, you needed to find somewhere to breathe.

Your feet carry you to the control room, nobody is in it and you lock the door behind you. You can see the party still going on in the cameras, people laughing and drinking. It was an odd and miserable feeling to know the world still went on when your heart was broken. To see people having fun when your world had just ended.

Your eyes close and you sob quietly, the man you loved had hurt you so badly that you didn't know if you could come back from this. How do you pick yourself up and carry on? Stay in the same building? Work with him?

An hour later your tears had dried up, but they had been replaced with anger. Absolute fury was filling you up, at the woman, at Steve. If he came near you you didn't know what you would do. The voice in your head wanted you to hurt him, to hurt him like he hurt you. And the woman, when you found out who she was, she would be lucky to survive your powers. You watch the electricity crackle across your fingers, a blue that matches Steve's suit. God, how you wished you could change it.

You sit up straighter when the door beeps, expecting Wanda or Nat but your heart drops at the sigh of Steve. He looked so worried, his normally bright blue eyes were dark with sadness and his skin looked drawn over his cheeks. It was odd how pain could affect someone physically, and Steve looked to be suffering.

A cruel smirk twists your face, you hoped it hurt. You hoped his heart and soul were so broken that they would never be right again.

"What do you want?" You hiss at him.

"Baby, I'm so sorry" He drops to his knees in front of you, his hands reaching for you.

"Don't touch me, Steve. I don't want those hands on me after what I saw" He pulls back and waits for you.

"How could you do this to me, Steve? How could you kiss another woman? Was she worth it? Did it make you feel good?" You watch a tear slip down his face and scoff at him.

"Really? Tears. Are they for being caught?" You sneer at him.

"No, baby. They're for you. For what you went through" He whispers.

Your eyes practically bulge out of your head, was he serious? For you, he cried for you.

"Why do you care? You caused it" You shuffle further back but Steve follows you.

"I need to tell you something, sweetheart and I would ask that you listen to me" He waits again, he was being very careful with how he spoke to you.

"If you tell me this was an affair, I'll fry you, Steve. I won't be able to stop myself" You growl but he shakes his head.
